I've been making an effort to regularly exercise and stay active (I love Zumba Toning!), and now that it is summer, I want to take advantage of the weather and go hiking as much as possible. Cool that you saw a bear! It took me until a couple of weeks before we left before I saw wild bears - a mama and her two cubs came wandering up Keenan's parents driveway on the Sunshine Coast, and a couple of days later there was another bear hanging out in their garden, driving the dog nuts!

I'm really missing the opportunity to go hiking here. Living in North Van, it was a lot easier for me than you to get to trails on transit! Here, even with a car, it takes about 50-60 minutes to get to any decent hiking places.

I like Melbourne, but I don't think I want to stay here long term. I needs my outdoors!

Yeah, unless you live in North Van, it is so hard to get to the trails via transit. People always say that they like Vancouver because of the mountains (and hiking, snowboarding, etc), but that stuff is not really accessible for people who don't drive/can't afford a car/can't afford to live in North Van.

Good job on all the hiking! I was thinking about you the other day, wondering how you had been. :)

Bears are crazy to run into! My brother almost rode his bike into one behind our house!
