Orlando Furioso rocks. I was already enjoying it, but I just got to the part where Ariosto rips off my all-time favorite scene from Vergil (the death of Pallas: "aut spoliis ego iam raptis laudabor opimis / aut leto insigni; sorti pater aequus utrique est;" here transferred to Dardinel) and then follows it up with a really hilarious plot twist that ( Read more... )

::blush:: I got double0hilly's love! And yes, I know where your more recent user icons come from (once a 12-year old American girl in Japan, always a 12-year-old American girl in Japan). And I know a ton of late medieval and renaissance stuff which I really wish the Japanese would get their hands on. If you ever meet a good mangaka, tell her I've got some great material for her.
