Character: Katherine Pierce
Series: The Vampire Diaries (TV series)
Character Age: Physically 18 but is actually 536.
Canon: Elena Gilbert is the only survivor of an accident that killed both her parents. While trying to recover from their deaths, she meets a transfer student- Stefan Salvatore, who quickly forms a bond with her and helps her cope. Little does she know, he has some baggage of his own- such as the fact that he’s a vampire who’s over a century old, with a brother hell bent on making his life miserable. Her friends and family also start to get dragged into a supernatural mess, and to top things off, it turns out that Elena just happens to look exactly like Stefan’s vampire ex.

Katherine is the ex-girlfriend in question, and although she may be charming and enigmatic, she is the opposite of Elena in all but appearance. Selfish and ruthless, she’ll do anything she can in order to survive, even if it means she has to manipulate people into doing her bidding or discard the people she claims to be her allies. She’ll lead you on, mock and tease, maybe even casually drop a body or two if the threats will help her get her way. The only thing besides her survival that she seems to care about is having fun on her terms, even if her idea of ‘fun’ tends to be the schadenfreude kind at other people’s expense. She generally has a devil-may-care attitude and likes to come across as someone who’s fully embraced her vampirism because, honestly, who needs those pesky human feelings? But if you look carefully, and don’t blink, there might just be more than meets the eye.

Sample Post:
Long time no see, Elizabeth. I see you’ve been keeping busy and found quite a place for yourself. Very . . . homely. The suburban scenery’s a bit boring if you ask me, but I guess you’ve done what you can with what you’ve got. Now, you’re probably wondering why I’m here, but really, I just miss you! It’s been a very long time since we last spoke, after all, so can’t a girl drop by to see how her friend’s doing without being given the third degree? Oh well, if you really insist on knowing, I guess I can indulge you.

You see. . . I’ve been hearing tales of a beautiful woman, heartbroken by the death of the one she loved, later luring people to her mystical Camp to find his killer. So I wandered here out of idle curiosity and imagine my surprise when it turns out that they were talking about you! It’s hard to believe that you’ve grown so sentimental over the years we haven’t seen each other. Stephan must have done quite a number on you! Tell me, does he make you feel more human? Is he like the meteor that shot across a moonless night? Were your eyes so blinded by his light that you couldn’t see the stars anymore or found no more reason for anything else but to seek revenge?

If that’s the case, I’d have to say that I’m severely disappointed. I thought you would’ve known better than to get in touch with your human side! It’s a weakness, and it’ll lead you to do ridiculous self-destructive things that only come off as stupid. Like what you’re doing now. I mean, really? Zombies pouncing in the cornfield? That tentacle monster trying to cop a feel when people walks buy? It’s lame and very unlike you. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with wanting to get even with someone, but to do it for love? Don’t you think that’s a little pathetic? You know you’re better than that, and you don’t need some cheap gimmick like a bunch of badly made Hollywood props to scare a bunch of people, hoping they’ll confess.

. . . Or maybe you just wove that tale in order to lure more toys into your playground! Seeing as word on the street is that Stephan’s actually alive after all. A creative tactic, and apparently effective too! Since it looks like you’ve caught quite a few interesting ones. I hope you wouldn’t mind sharing some of them? It can be a nice little game between the two of us while I try to rehabilitate you, just like old times. And who knows? Maybe we’ll even get to break a leg or two in the process!
