"Now Miss Suzuki, where did you work in Umbrella?"

"I was a technician in the labs of Doctor William Birkin. The complex was located underneath Raccoon City."

"And were you involved in other activities of Umbrella?"

"...Yes. Inadvertantly. Two years before the outbreak, I signed up to participate in a clinical test of a new medicine. I didn't know ( Read more... )

Kevin has been sitting in the courtroom this whole time, watching the defense attorneys with a flat look of disgruntled ill temper. He's wearing a rented grey business suit, has actually shaved and combed back his hair, and is wearing his glasses. He looks almost completely different.

When they break for recess, he continues to watch carefully, resisting the urge to get up and go to comfort her; Yoko wasn't a crowd person, this he knew. All this pressure must be getting to her.

Yoko is sitting behind the prosecution's table, bawling her eyes out. She's dressed in a pale green dress suit and is wearing her glasses. She looks up and sees Kevin. Sniffling, she heads in his direction discreetly.

One of the Umbrella higher-ups in the gallery gives her an exasperated look. She scrunches her nose at the man before plopping down next to Kevin. And it might be noticed that she's trying to smile through her tears.

"K-Kevin, hi. When did you get here?"

Kevin isn't discreet about it; he pulls her into a hug that nearly pulls her off of her chair. He hated seeing her cry. Hated it.

He pulls back after a few moments, then wipes one of the trails of tears off of her cheek with the pad of his thumb and looks into her eyes; it's not romantic, he's flat-out worried about her.

"I've been here the whole time," he says quietly. When he's not barking out peals of laughter or yelling at the top of his lungs, he sounds like a completely different person. This would be one of those times.

The hug is met with a very loud squeak of surprise, followed by a weak laugh. The Umbrella bigwig looks disgusted at this public display of affection and looks away with a huff. Yoko, of course, ignores him. She's busy hugging Kevin back and looking at him.

"Y-you have?" He must have snuck in when she was being sworn in or something. Yoko's been alternating between watching the trial and watching the doors. She's half-afraid Wesker or someone will come through the doors and kill everyone.

"Have I... been doing good?" She smiles weakly and rubs her nose with the back of her hand. Manners aren't quite as important as testifying in federal court against a massive corporation.

Linda sits across the courtroom from Kevin, but not out of any sort of slight; she would've sat closer if she'd recognized him.

She was nodding at certain intervals throughout Yoko's testimony. As Yoko gets down from the stand, Linda's... well, horrified, really.

Yoko's been talking to Kevin for the past few minutes. She heads back towards the witness stand, but then notices Linda. So of course, she has to stop and say hello. Which she does so!

"Linda. Hi! ...Pretty bad, isn't it? What the company did to us both."

Linda doesn't quite have the words to agree as thoroughly as she'd like to. Instead, she stares for a second and says, "I had no idea..."

"At least you didn't work where I did. You worked at the main office." Yoko plops down in a convenient empty seat next to Linda. "But yeah... it was pretty bad."

"I knew I forgot something, but I didn't know what. David helped me remember." She shrugs a little bit. "Umbrella... it's done terrible things, hasn't it?"

"And where was that hospital you mentioned in testimony?"
