Fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled meeting time, Chris has set up a podium made of stacked ammo crates in the center of the squadbay. He double checks his watch, waiting for everyone to arrive.

Linda gets there early. She hasn't been very social, which she regrets; she's mostly been occupied with turning part of the base's fallout shelter into a workable lab space.

Just the same, she shows up for the meeting just after Chris does, a cup of coffee and a notebook in hand.

Chris nods politely and offers a warm smile. He's leaning on the podium and looking over some last minute notes.

"Hi, Linda. You getting everything you need for that lab?"

"Good evening," Linda says, and sits down someplace convenient. "I may have to get Yoko's help, once she's available, but I'm doing all right."

She's one of those people who compensates for slight awkwardness by being very polite.

"I'll probably want to confer with Rebecca and get a full medical workup done on each of the team members, so we've got everything on file."

Chris nods and taps his notepad with a pen.

"I'm glad you brought that up. I have some issues I'll nee to go over on the medical side of things. I'll make sure you have access to medical records and such."

Claire comes in five minutes before the meeting time. She has a legal pad and a #2 pencil with her, and flops down on a handy wooden box. Today was a full-on physical conditioning day, and she's almost on empty.

Chris looks up from his notes and smiles at Claire.

"How's recon training going for ya?"

"I think I'm dead."

She's savoring these seconds of being still and silent. And she's feeling very alliterative, apparently.

"Then that means our Drill Instructors are doing their jobs right."

Chris chuckles to himself.

"Trust me, when this is all over, you'll be amazed at how far you've come. Hell, they may even make a sniper out of you."

Two minutes before the meeting, Yoko walks in, ruffling her hair. Grey dust flies out with every shake she gives her head. She's also dressed in denim coveralls, a green shirt, and a pair of ratty old sneakers. Hey, she was drilling holes into drywall. She wasn't going to ruin her good clothes!

She looks up and notices Chris. "Hello, Chris. I'm on time, r-right?" She grins nervoulsy before getting the last bit of dust out of her hair. "I-I was doing some work with renovating the old guard post out front into an office. And, uhm, rewiring the op center so it's more up to date."

"It's, uh, been a busy week."

"Yeah, it has. And you look like you just had a fight with a drywall factory and lost."

Chris checks his watch and nods.

"You're a little early, actually. Grab a seat." He says with a smile.

Yoko laughs at the description. It never hurts to be able to laugh at yourself! "Well, considering I've been doing battle with drywall with power tools all week, it's no wonder I look like that." She scrunches her nose at Chris before plopping down in the nearest available chair. "Phew."

"I nearly wound up having my arms tied in knots because of a power drill." she winces a bit and rubs her left arm. "It's hard to control those things, you know?" No upper arm strength: that's Yoko!

"How are you doing, Chris?"

"Yeah, those power drills are nasty bastards. All 3 and a half pounds of them."

He laughs.

"I've been busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest."

Jill shows up a little after Chris, and plops down on one of the many folding chairs set up in the squadbay. She's got a clipboard, some paper and a pencil resting in her lap.

This may be the first time many have seen her in awhile; she'd been on personal leave for awhile, and upon her return, working behind the scenes for the base (cleaning/setting up, paperwork, phonecalls... all the stuff Chris hates).

"We may have to see if we can fit a real podium in our budget, Redfield."

"A real podium? Ha. I'm surprised we had room in the budget for electricity."

He smiles at Jill.

"Good to see you."

He winks so only she can catch it.

"Oh, we'll swing something." She catches the wink and grins.

"Good to see you too, Captain."

Becky, surprisingly, does something short of bouncing in. Her energy levels are up, she's got grass in her hair, her face is stained with dirt and her uniform is filthy, but she looks positively energetic. She's got a small coil notebook and a few pencils with her.

She drags a crate over to Claire and plops down beside her. Becky then notices a piece of straw in the birds' nest of her hair before plucking it out.

Hi, Becky! Have a dirty look!

"...why're you so damn peppy?" Claire seethes with mock hate!

Becky looks over and scratches her head.

"Med evac is fun," she says, then putting her hands on the edge of the crate between her legs, heels on the floor, "And the weather was nice today. AND they had pancakes in the chow hall."

She apparently is thankful for the little things.

"I'm glad you think so, kid. Especially since I'll be your chopper pilot for the next med evac flight."

He winks and laughs.
