Let's see if I can make this sound official enough.

Following information that was procured from Arthur Bromwell's hard drive, I borrowed a jeep from the motor pool and drove into the Nevada desert. Investigating, I found an old fallout shelter that apparently dates from the late sixties. I've attached a scan of a satellite photo of the region with the location circled.

The fallout shelter was apparently part of an old Cold War project that involved several of Umbrella's competitors. The shelter was stocked to withstand a potential attack by T-Virus carriers, including several long-outdated antiviral weapons.

Arthur Bromwell later informed me that the project was one that involved "dieback": the trimming of a post-nuclear-exchange population to a controllable number. The idea was to use the T-Virus to eliminate inconvenient pockets of civilization, while selected individuals rode out the epidemic in shelters such as the one I discovered. He further indicated that subsequent events took place because I discovered the bunker, so I could not tell anyone what I'd found.

Following this discovery, I drove to Los Angeles to find out more from Arthur Bromwell. On my way there, I stopped for gas. The station was robbed shortly thereafter by a group of twelve individuals wearing ski masks and armed with conventional weaponry. They immediately took an interest in me despite my lack of activity, and attempted to kill me. I escaped via the back window of the gas station, shot out two of their three vehicles' tires, and drove towards California. They fired on me, clearly intending to kill; their shots were aimed at me rather than at the tires of my vehicle.

I later discovered that they had placed a GPS locator on my car while I was in the gas station, and were using it to repeatedly acquire my position despite my attempts to lose them in the city. In an act of desperation, I pulled into a Los Angeles parking garage and ditched the vehicle, then hid nearby.

My pursuers arrived shortly thereafter. As they had already attempted to kill me several times, I opted to use lethal force to disable them. Two men were declared dead at the scene following the detonation of their vehicle, and a third is in critical condition at an area hospital. The fourth was taken alive and mostly uninjured, but has refused to disclose any details as to his identity. Dental records proved inconclusive, and the man has mutilated himself to remove fingerprints.

I spent several hours at the scene discussing the situation with law enforcement officials, then moved on to discuss the situation with Arthur Bromwell. After informing me that the infection of Joseph Martinson was probably the work of "Globochem," he promptly shot himself.

I am uninjured and the city of Los Angeles is mad at me.
