[When the video feed starts, it's obvious Damas is trying to learn the system. It swings wildly at first, but slows down as Damas gets the hang of it. I'd sooner assume they're for the captain's amusement. Or surveillance, not that he seems to need it.

I do not think he needs a trinket as simple as this to observe us.

[He seems to know about deaths and fights on the ship without people even posting about them, at the very least.]
