I ran into Zach just awhile ago in the common room while taking a break from that horrid potions essay. We mostly caught up on gossip and such. Oh and 'boy wonder'. And Umbridge. And being famous. It really is good to see everyone again, I've missed all my friends over holiday!
Susan: Glad to finally see another Hufflepuff around, the common room has been so empty it seems like everyone had gone home for the holidays!
Zacharias: I know. It's been bloody boring except for Hannah.
Susan: Yeah, I haven't talked to her yet. Do you know where she is?
Zacharias: I think she went off to study or something *shrugs*. So, how was your hols then?
Susan: Wonderful, as usual, my aunt is a great at cooking! Yours?
Zacharias: Meh. Not so good. Spent most of it stoned on gilly weed. Er - don't tell your aunt. *cough*
Susan: Of course not...::smiles:: I don't tell her everything...
Zacharias: I know. She's cool though, for an authority figure.
Susan: I've always thought so but it's good to hear it from someone else, too. :D
Zacharias: Oh crap, did you do your potions homework?
Susan: Taking a break from it actually, I was getting a headache...
Zacharias: I know - Snape's a bastard. So, I guess you heard all about Harry in that article in Witch Weekly, eh?
Susan: Oh yeah...I think peircings are cool, it's about time someone broke down barriers around here!
Zacharias: I know. Have you talked to him?
Susan: Nope, not yet but I was planning on owling him about the DA. Have you heard if it's going to start up again?
Zacharias: No, I haven't talked to him. I try to avoid him unless it's necessary. Though if he is starting it up, would you tell me about it? Are you going to the party Potter's throwing this friday?
Susan: Sure, no problem. I know you two don't particularly like to associate.
Zacharias: Exactly.
Susan: I heard about the party, I probably will go.
Zacharias: Good good. I wasn't exactly invited, but you know, Hufflepuff has to make a strong showing. We're the most fun at parties, after all.
Susan: Of course! I don't think I was invited either but, what the heck, we can crash!
Zacharias: Exactly. House of the mighty badger all the way! Hehe, 'Puff Pride... Oh, by the way ... I've made friends with Cho Chang. Sort of.
Susan: Oh really? I didn't know you two actually talk.
Zacharias: We don't ... or we didn't.
Susan: Oh ::nods:: that bad?
Zacharias: I don't know, it's weird. She's kind of a bitch but I think she's pretty cool, too.
Susan: Well, I've never really talked with her before...maybe I should try.
Zacharias: I feel kinda bad for her actually. She seems awful lonely, what with no one really talking to her. She's not that bad.
Susan: Scratch that, I will try. Lonely is not fun at all.
Zacharias: Thanks - that's how Hannah was exactly. We're lucky that we're Hufflepuffs and we can stick together. I don't think they have quite the same sentiment in Ravenclaw.
Susan: We are very loyal to all of our friends!
Zacharias: In case you haven't heard, Hannah and Ernie aren't really doing so well.
Susan: Oh no! What happened?
Zacharias: Hannah's actually been pretty screwed up. Apparently they aren't talking. I don't really know all the details, some sort of argument, over Harry Potter, I think.
Susan: That's awful! I hope they set everything straight...maybe I should sent her some honey dukes chocolate! Potter? What does it have to with him?
Zacharias: *rolls his eyes* Hell if I know. I mean, he is boy wonder and all but he's not the bloody ruler of the universe.
Susan: That's what I was thinking, maybe it's the whole 'hero' bit. I don't think he wants to be though, I got that feeling when I talked to him last year.
Zacharias: I don't know about that. I think he likes the attention sometimes. Not always, but come on, being famous has its perks.
Susan: Well, I guess so, I don't really know, I mean, I would probably get stage fright or something! Perks yes, but I would rather not have the entire wizarding world alerted to my comings and goings.
Zacharias: I suppose. Though if he didn't want the attention, why suddenly go all rebellious!Potter?
Susan: Exactly. That's what confuses me.
Zacharias: I know. I want to like him and I want to hate him and I end up somewhere complicated. You know, I couldn't pretend to like someone if I don't - subtlety isn't my strongpoint.
Susan: I think you need to figure that one out, man. You can't go living split in half like that.
Zacharias: I hate having to choose the extremes though. It's like the lesser of two evils. Everyone's either for potter or against him - is there another alternative?
Susan: Um...Umbridge maybe? Ack, bad memories!
Zacharias: Ewww. That woman - if you call that thing a woman - was vile. Yeauch.
Susan: Toad lady more like.
Zacharias: Crap - I have to go send an owl to my mum. Talk to you later, Susan.
Susan: Sure! See ya around!
Zacharias: Ta!
~Owl Hannah, send her some chocolate
~Owl Harry about the DA
~Finish potions essay! ACK!
*Yawns* Time for a nap...
