Written in hiding and never mailed

Dear Reed,

My heart may not be any lighter since the night I left the Baxter Building, I can tell you that I feel better about myself. I accept that you may still not understand why I left and that there is a very good chance that not only will I face being held within the prison that you helped design, but that you may well be the one to put me there - But this was how it had to be.

Look around you. Look at what this war is doing. Not just to superheroes and powered individuals but to the country. Can you not see how this has gone beyond Tony supporting the government's law and is mutating itself into Stark molding things into a way he can more easily control? He's a zealot, Reed. A power hungry fanatic with money and means. Stark is on the fast track to becoming a madman. Does none of this sound familiar? Look to history because it is repeating itself here.

You gave him the support of the Fantastic Four and now they are no more. Stark gave you the means and motivation, but it was you that destroyed everything you - we - built. Remember that.

On a personal note, I do hope you have found time to give to Frank and Valeria as they so richly deserve. I left so that they could live free but it is up to you to remind them that all this time they have had a Mother and a Father.

Don't forget to eat, Reed and remember that the trash goes out on Tuesdays.

Without affection though I will always love you,

Sue
