I also really wanted it to be like the book. It was so ... unactiony (if thats even a word) in a good, old fashioned, exploring, sort of way.

See, Dawn Treader was never a favorite (among a lot of the other books, Prince Caspian, for example), because it felt so very disjointed in some sequence. So if they somehow tweak it to have a bit of a climax/resolution that was... better than the one in the book, that'd be wonderful.

Oh, and if, like, Ramandu's Daughter and Caspian had a little bit more than:

"Hi."

"Hi."

"You wanna get married?"

"Definitely."

As for the Peter and Susan involvement --- I don't particularly think they'll be in the anything that is significant to the movie/book/plot, but more of that they'll be there in the sequence when Aslan sends Lucy and Edmund off, because their true journey is growing up in THEIR world, of course. And I think it'll just be one great big send-off as they close the Pevensie Era of the series. God, I'm gonna be depressed at the end.

ZOMG SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED CAN NOT WAIT!!1 ANNA! AND WILL!! (but, I have to admit, I prefer Skander and Ben to Will... BUT STILL!!!) AND THEY BE IN NARNIAN CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!!

*squeeing over*

It seems like they're changing quite a bit, like Aslan being *obviously* there all the time, and explaining the whole *growth* thing. Me no likey.

Me also no likey glowing Ramandu's daughter. I had wondered whether they would give her a name in this. I hope they don't. Not when she's glowly and poofy (as in *poof* into the sky).

Yeh. This comment was random. lol.

*SQUEEEEEEEE* Peter! I was all set to be greatly disappointed by this movie simply for the lack of my favorite annoying king but Peter! This just might revive my Narnia fandom.

As for Ramandu's Daughter... how exactly did they describe her in the book? (It's been so many years since I read them, I can't remember.) Because we do know that she's a star's daughter so, while they did lay on the glowy a bit thick, it kind of makes sense she would have certain of those characteristics.

Here's what the description says...

The figure carried a light, and this light was really all that they could see distinctly. It came slowly nearer and nearer till at last it stood right at the table opposite to them. Now they could see that it was a tall girl, dressed in a single long garment of clear blue which left her arms bare. She was bare-headed and her yellow hair hung down to her back. And when they looked at her they thought they had never before known what beauty meant. (Lie, they've known before, her name was SUSAN PEVENSIE.)

The light which she had been carrying was a tall candle in a silver candlestick which she now set upon the table. If there had been any wind off the sea earlier in the night it must have died down by now, for the flame of the candle burned as straight and still as if it were in a room with the windows shut and the curtains drawn. Gold and silver on the table shone in its light."

There is no indication in the book that she is actually a star, just a retired star's daughter and there's no indication ( ... )

*snicker* Are we the legion of bitter!Casue fans? ;P

I never got them. At all. It's bizarre. I mean, sure, he needed a queen and Narnia didn't exactly have epic romances (*coughuntilwecrazyfangirlscamealongcough*) but it's so... random. You want to talk about token romance. One of the reasons I wouldn't mind not following the book exactly to a 'T'.

I can admit I'm bitter from all the criticisms I get for shipping Susan/Caspian. They're all like, "Pfft, you ship Susan/Caspian? They're not supposed to happen. They're not in the books." Argh, versus what is in the books? I'LL TAKE THEM OVER CASPIAN/NAMELESS STAR GIRL any day.

I AM TOTALLY WITH YOU ON THE BEARD THING. At first from the pictures, it just looked... blegh, but ... in MOVEMENT. Oh god, BEN BARNES. That man.... I've fallen in love with him all over again. Should do a picspam of him.

GAAASSSP, NO NARNIA ICONS, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING SEDRI?!?!?!?

I also agree with the Edmund = Peter recycled story, it's just... I don't know. I personally liked it when it was Peter, because it made more sense, but Edmund --- I don't know, he's already had his trial, so the movie shouldn't be so revolved around him -- it should be Lucy and Eustace. Although I do love that Edmund is getting a craplock of screentime, I wish it was more in the sense of LWW!Peter, not that I'm comparing him to Peter or anything, I don't know. But I agree, them re-using that type of character development is really taxing.

And the exchange,
"Squirt? I'm a King." / "Not in this world."
"Um, we are kids?" / "Well, I wasn't always ( ... )

She does, doesn't she? She's definitely hit a growth spurt! Even more so than in PC. I like it, now she has some competition with Edmund on height, she doesn't look quite nearly like a runt.
