There is nothing quite like being measured for jeans and hearing one sales lady say to the other, "Ooh! She's TINY!" And they're talking about you! Granted, I was in Lane Bryant, but still! I'm a size 18 (that 16W in Kohl's was kind of a fluke), which I haven't been in a long time. I used to be a 22

As i have exactly zero experience in the fit and style of women's pants, and only lateral thinking to offer, i'll risk putting foot in mouth out of ignorance.

Try hitting goodwill, grabbing an assortment of men's and women's pants, and seeing what fits? You might find a better scattershot of brands there than in a more standard store, and even if you don't like what you find, if you find a maker, size, or style that works, you can go hunt more of that down on teh intarwebs.

I'm assuming we grew up roughly at the same time; the jeans brands I recall were Levi Strauss, Wrangler, and Lee. We didn't have The Gap in Connecticut, but we did have Bob's in Middletown (home of Wesleyan university), which is where I got my cords growing up, and the occasional jeans (Bob's used to have a trade-in in August).

If you do not mind an opinion, I would think skirts would be flattering for you. This is from someone whose taste in ladies' fashion (*on the lady,* I will note) stops around 1947. Yes, I'm a Gil Elvgren fan.

I do hope the UCSF is able to solve your headache mystery and leave you pain-free and in peace. I'm sure you will make it past your plateau. Punching/kicking dummy, eh? Sounds like my kind of exercise:)
