He sits on the counter - now for two days straight and clearly wants something but he has food, his two favorite kinds. What in the heck else does he want? He just hopped up here in my lap and was fine for a few minutes and then bit me. A love bite. Just really put his teeth on my skin and then backed off. Same change here in Philadelphia re: restaurants no longer requiring proof of vaccination for dining in.

My attitude has changed to one where I'm thinking that if others are not protecting themselves, why should I protect them? I'm only masking up where required (with full cooperation when required).

I'm shifting from always wearing a mask indoors, sign or no sign, policy or no policy, to where I am actively checking for the 'wear a mask' sign. If there is none, I'm wearing none, unless I am in the mood to annoy anti-maskers, which I often am.

Good for you-- about feeling safer getting out and about. Here in TN, we have the 4th highest rate of Covid in the US-- still. Because our governor seems to think Covid is really nothing to worry about. He has prohibited any kind of mask mandate, including in our area, where we actually WANT a mask mandate! Almost 23,500 citizens in our state have lost their lives due to this virus that he will make no attempt to control.

Weird how very much the Covid thing is all relative. Before the last couple of weeks when NZ started our Omicron spike, 200 cases a day was a national emergency. I felt then and still feel only comfortable going out when cases are below 20 (and that's fully N95 masked).

I think sometimes cats just get full of bees. Mine, who on paper apparently should be in an urn according to his vet, has been a cartoon level catastrophe to everything around him all week. Have you tried feliway "calm your ass down" diffusers? I cannot remember if you had or not or if they just weren't something that would work conveniently in your apartment. I'm trying them again here but my little misfit is only slowly reacquiring his chill.

Happy to hear your eye is better! It is a good feeling to not have to get places early, I hope it lasts.
