Hospitals and the professional communities within can be the best and the worst of places. They are extremely hierarchical institutions. A breeding ground for bullying and other nastiness. You know what they say about give some people a uniform?! Even if they don't wear one it still holds true. Most people are compassionate, kind and professional. Not all though. They all encourage 'whistleblowing' if anything untoward is happening. The people who have enough courage to whistleblow tend to get hounded to death practically. Sometimes the best thing to do is flag any errant behaviour and for personal sanity, walk away.
