Crafty Chicky

I've been a very Crafty Chicky of late, although I haven't posted about it much. Mostly, I've been doing things that were gifts for family, and things that just weren't very exciting. I've also been trying to use up some stash. There will be more coming, when I take more pictures, but for now, here's an update on my stash-using list.

Stitch holders. Hm. Thinking if I could make something like that.

I resisted making a Clapotis for a while, as I'm also one to eschew bandwagons. Of course, that has led me to come late to the game on things like The Simpsons, X-Files, and Harry Potter...but I digress. What finally got me to do it was a customer who kept bringing in her Clapotis looking for help, trying to figure out what she was doing, and I couldn't quite grok the pattern to where I could look at the words and know what would happen when they were knitted, so I kept sending her to someone else. Anyway, I finally did one, and oh my stars and feathers, what a great pattern. So simple, and yet so clever and lovely. No wonder everyone was doing it! (D'oh ( ... )

OH! The Mirasol yarns! One of my LYS has some of them, and I'm using Chirapa to make a baby blanket. It's lovely stuff!

Yummy Mirasol! I have some socks made from Hacho, which are a little thicker but really nice (comparable to STR mediumweight). Unfortunately, this yarn seems to be particularly prone to shrinkage - I generally handwash my socks and wait for them to dry, but once I got impatient and threw them all in the dryer on low temp for just a bit. These are the only ones that shrank. They're still wearable, but hard to put on/take off.

Thanks! She all about the green and black these days. I think it's a symptom of being 15.
