Hm. Well, they're now selling Viking combs with 1 or 2 rows of teeth, and they usually include some kind of optional clamping device to hold one to a table. The English combs seem to vary in the number of rows - some up to 4 or 5 rows.
I also wasn't sure whether the designation of "English" or "Viking" had to do with historical origins or something else. At one point I thought maybe Viking was a brand name. Honestly, I don't know how much it really matters, if they all ultimately do the same job. People seem to be saying it's a matter of how many passes it takes to do the same thing, but I might be misunderstanding.
