Susan was almost finished packing. There were a few things left out as going-away presents for people, but by and large, she was finished. She'd be leaving either tomorrow or the day after. Willow came over after classes. She knocked on the door and tried not to look as upset as she felt.

Susan opened the door, and sighed, then smiled when she saw Willow. "Hello, Willow. Come on in. Please excuse all the boxes. I'm trying to fit things in for storage."

Susan pushed her hair out of her eyes, and smiled a little. "Most of it's done. But I left the books until last-- any of them that you want, you can have. I somehow don't think I'll be needing my references or the DSM-IV where I'm going." She took a breath. "As well as a small present for you. I had it for Hannukah, but with one thing and another, I didn't get it to you sooner."

"No," Susan said regretfully, pushing one box on top of another. "I'm leaving in the next day or so. For home." She sighed, still unable to believe it. "My real home."

Susan looked up. "You didn't get my message?" She brushed a wrist across her forehead. "Yes, either tomorrow or the day after. I'm going home, Janet."
