Chapter 1

Siwon was still in his corner, keeping a close eye on the target. The lights were flashing, and the bass was thumping through the ground. He could see the target, enjoying his meaningless life filled with pleasure and filth. The target was a huge man, with about 20 women around him, he was enjoying an entire bottle of alcohol, and laughing at everyone’s faces. This man had an incredible crime history, but he always managed to get out of it through some miracle. This man was definitely scum, on the lowest part of this earth. But vigilante justice, just wasn’t the right way of going about it. Siwon exhaled, and felt a chill travel up his spine.
In the rafters of the club, there were 2 black clad figures staring down at the scene below them.
“The target is right there, in the middle of the horde. Seems our calling card was reciprocated” Hyung Jun whispered, smirking behind his facemask.
“Lets see. How many bodyguards this time? 1, 2,3… oh wait, there is a 4th one. Sometimes they make this too easy” Hangeng observed, with a smile on his face.
“2 of which are on the second floor just observing, we have to knock them out first” Hyung Jun replied.
Then in a blur, both assassin’s had successfully knocked out and dragged 2 burly men into the darkness.
Siwon looked up and noticed the men on watch were gone. He stood up immediately, that chill, was it that mysterious killing force? Suddenly he looked over at the target, the two muscular men next to the target were stumbling, needles were embedded on their backs, placed with precision to merely make them lose consciousness not kill. The lights went out, Siwon broke out in a cold sweat, not being able to breathe properly. Everyone in the club fell silent, just light murmurs and whispers. He could hear the sound of someone pleading.
“No! How did yo- no don’t come any closer-”
Siwon looked over in the general direction he had seen the target in. The club was barely visible, but a gleam of the moonlight reflected off of metal that was being re sheathed, and in the distance he heard the sound of a coin clattering on the floor.
“Yuàn nǐ de línghún jiéjìng…” a soft voice ghosted from above.
“May your soul be cleansed…” Siwon translated in his head.
The lights came back on and immediately screaming filled the room. The target was bleeding out of his chest. A bright crimson river flowing down and staining his clothes. Siwon rushed out of the club, informing Kyuhyun to get the police over there as soon as possible. He looked around, trying to find someone, anyone fleeing the scene that would have done this. When he looked up he saw 2 black clad figures on a rooftop observing the scene. Siwon knew what to do, he entered the building, and ran up the stairs.
“So who stays here for observation this time?” Hyung Jun asked quietly.
“Oh you did it last time so I suppose I’ll do it this time…” Hangeng replied, with a sigh through his mask.
Hyung Jun walked over to the ledge and turned to face Hangeng.
“You are going to have some company it looks like” Hyung Jun said with sarcastic laugh.
A mere second later the rooftop door burst open, Siwon walked forward a bit, holding up his gun.
Hyung Jun just wiggled his fingers at Hangeng and leaned back, dropping down. Siwon just shouted HEY, and ran towards the ledge, listening for a thud to indicate the jumper’s death. He stared down confused, he heard no thud, or saw anyone for that matter. He looked up at the other man, with a puzzled look on his face.
“Wow if you are shocked at that one, you have a long way to go” Hangeng answered, while cocking an eyebrow and smirking beneath his mask.
Siwon glared at him.
“So what are you exactly?” Siwon questioned.
“Isn’t your job to find out Mr. Agent?” Hangeng said as he winked.
“Did you murder that man…” Siwon breathed, trying not to lose his cool.
“No. There is a difference between murder and cleansing…” Hangeng responded with an intense expression.
“When will you learn? Just let the justice system handle it. Rules were made for a reason. Vigilante justice only exists in the comics” Siwon sternly replied.
“Well Mr. Agent, the world was made with a certain order, and rules are manmade, thus they are brittle and sometimes collapse under pressure. When that happens, we are there” Hangeng responded thoughtfully.
Siwon looked a tad pissed off at that point. He aimed his gun at a non lethal spot on the man, he missed the glint in Hangeng’s eye as he pulled the trigger. He looked at the spot and it was empty. He stiffened when he heard light chuckling behind him, and his front pocket suddenly seemed lighter.
“hmm Choi Siwon huh?” Hangeng said with a playful tone, holding Siwon’s badge.
Siwon turned around and tried to strike the man, but he disappeared again. He felt a gloved finger slowly sliding down the left side of his face, he looked over, and was face to face with the assassin. Siwon couldn’t see much of his face, his raven hair was parted so it was just ghosting over one of his eyes and the mask was covering his nose, mouth and cheeks. A slight chill went down his spine as the finger ghosted his skin.
“这将是有趣的跟你玩” Hangeng said in a whisper.
It will be interesting playing with you Siwon mentally translated.
He looked at his gun for a second and whipped it around. Hangeng just stared intensely at him, slowly backing away, and back flipped off of the edge plunging to the darkness below. He looked over the edge and only saw blackness, a soft chuckle drifted up.
Siwon just looked at the ground.
“tsk” he sounded, in annoyance…

Hours later, Hangeng knocked on the window of his shared apartment. Hyung Jun grumbled, got off the couch and opened it. Hangeng glided in and went straight to his room to change and shower. Hyung Jun sighed and slid back onto the couch watching the tv with mild interest. Hangeng came out of the bathroom, his hair wet, he jumped over the back of the couch and sunk in next to Hyung Jun.
“So what happened Gege?” Hyung Jun asked.
Hangeng just smirked and laid his head on Hyung Jun’s shoulder.
“I started a game” he said with teasing tone.
“Oh gege, hopefully this one won’t be stupid enough to follow us across rooftops” Hyung jun said, alluding to the past agent assigned to their case who tried to chase after them across a rooftop and fell.
“No this one actually looked competent. I was just teasing him a bit” Hangeng said with a smile.
“Gege your brand of teasing isn’t exactly pleasant” Hyung Jun expressed while rolling his eyes.
“Well, I got to know some information. His name is Choi Siwon. Oh and you should have seen his face when he saw you fall backwards off of the building…” Hangeng said in a whimsical tone.
Hyung Jun just smirked.
“So does he know what we are yet? It took the past agent awhile” Hyung Jun looked over at Hangeng.
“Nope he said we are vigilantes” Hangeng said matter of factly.
They both started laughing at a medium volume.
“Can I be Spiderman?” Hyung Jun said in an overly cute voice.
Hangeng just playfully his shoulder and looked at the tv.

The next morning Hyun Joong had, had it with his hostage. He was so frustrated on the inside, he started throwing knives at the walls, something he did to relieve stress. He left his apartment to get the sounds of female screaming out of his head. He decided to go to the coffee shop. Maybe if he gave her coffee she would calm down, he thought internally.
When he opened the door it was silent in the coffee shop, he walked in and ordered a tea. It looked like it was after the morning rush so there was no one there. He sat down at a table and sighed, enjoying the quiet.
“Oh you are back” a voice sounded.
He looked over at the owner of the voice. It was the barista he had talked with the other day. Hyun Joong just grunted in recognition, and watched carefully as Hyung Jun lowered himself into the chair opposite him. Hyung Joong turned so that he faced the other man who was smiling brightly but softly. Hyung Jun held out his hand.
“My name is Hyung Jun. How about you?”
Hyun Joong had a look of amusement on his face, he actually showed emotion for the first time in years. He took the younger man’s hand and shook it.
“My name is Hyun Joong” he said with a small crooked smile, it was weird because those muscles haven’t been used in a while.
Hyung Jun’s face lit up, and he had a dorky smile on his face.
“That’s funny our names are so similar” Hyung Jun said, his voice seeping with happiness.
Hyun Joong looked at the younger man, just shining from all his smiling and thought about how he used to smile like that.
“Oh did your friend like the coffee?” Hyung Jun inquired.
“Yes it sure helped her calm down a bit” Hyun Joong said flatly.
“See I told you coffee was a wonderful thing”
“Are you always this….. smiley?” Hyun Joong said hesitantly.
“Well should I be cold hearted and frown a lot?” Hyung Jun questioned while tilting his head.
Hyun Joong certainly felt weird, it was the first time he had a normal conversation in years. He rarely talked except to accept jobs and confirm them. His life had virtually been on hold since he started this career of his. This situation felt awkward, but warm at the same time and felt nice.
Hyung Jun looked up at the door as a Hangeng stepped into the coffee shop. Hyun Joong witnessed the younger brighten up as he got up and hugged the male that just walked in. He held his hand, and walked back over to the table that Hyun Joong was sitting at.
“This is my gege-I mean hyung, Hangen- I mean wait what is your Korean name again?” Hyung Jun asked.
“I think Hyung Jun’s brain has shut down. Hi my name is Hankyung” Hangeng said while laughing.
“Hyun Joong” he said flatly, as he witnessed the thinking Hyung Jun scrunching his eyebrows together, and after he heard his face lit up in reminder.
“Oh right. Well I am going to get us some drinks” Hyung Jun said as he laughed awkwardly and turned towards his station yet again.
Hangeng sat down in the spot next to Hyung Jun’s vacant seat.
“Sorry, he still a little language confused. We moved from China about a month ago” Hangeng said with a smile.
Hyun Joong just nodded on response. He wondered though, Hyung Jun looks Korean, not chinese, and his hyung looked very chinese.
Hangeng just looked at him and chuckled.
“Hyung Jun was born in Korea, and moved to china when he was 6” Hangeng revealed.
Hyun Joong looked semi-shocked. How did this man know what he was thinking, scary. Hangeng just smiled. Hyung Jun wandered back with fresh cups of tea for himself and the other two.
“谢谢 HengJun” Hangeng said softly.
Hyun Joong knew next to no chinese, but he knew that meant thank you, and that must be Hyung Jun’s chinese name.
“Thank you” he said quietly.
“You are both welcome. So Hyun Joong, what brings you here?”
“Oh just needing to get away from something” Hyun Joong said thoughtfully.
“Oh? Maybe we can help. I have the human fortune cookie for a hyung” Hyung Jun said and Hangeng hit him lightly in the arm.
“Well. There is this woman, who doesn’t like me at all, she gets angry every time I get near. I just want her to stop yelling. I took something precious away from her” He said hesitantly with a hint of frustration.
Hyung Jun looked deep in thought for a couple minutes.
“Then trying and get that something back for her, or something that reminds her of that thing she lost” He said after awhile.
Hangeng just nodded along.
Hyun Joong, took in the advice. He still had the ring he had on his finger when he had shot him. But what to do with it.
He stood up and thanked them, and ran out of the shop.
“Well he sure is something HengJun” Hangeng said.
Hyung Jun just looked up at him with a questioning look.
“Well it’s time to go back home” Hangeng said, and grabbed Hyung Jun’s wrist leading him out of the shop.
~~~
When they got closer to their home they could see someone leaning up against the door clutching his shoulder. He looked up.
“Junnie and Hyung” JungMin said weakly, as he slid down the door and slipped into unconsciousness.
They were shocked, what was he doing out of the hospital?
