You say it's his new best friend, which makes me think it's a rebound thing. It's probably more: "Hey, I'm single now, and lonely, and need someone to take my mind off of how much I miss Jaime. And here is this new friend, she will do nicely." It's not that you're easy to forget, just the opposite, in fact.

I could be wrong, seeing as I think I met Eric once for about 5 minutes, but this is just my understanding of the situation.

Hey Kevin... I don't know that's it's really just a rebound, although I'd like to believe that. They've been inseparable basically since he got there so really she's part of the reason he stopped caring about me in the first place. Blah I have literally gone and made myself sick over this, but I just don't know what else to do...

Anywho. I would love to spend new year's with you guys, but I really need details, and a place to stay for a few hours since trying to drive home @ 2AM new year's morning isn't going to happen lol. Let me know...

I think Kevin's not necessarily wrong on this, despite Eric's friendship with Tess. Also, I think that dating definitely does not equal forgetting or getting over you. Your feelings about your relationship aren't wrong or out of sync with Eric's - there's no way this is easy for him to get over, no matter how he acts or who he dates. You were both huge parts of each other's lives, and him finding someone to be with doesn't undermine that, or make his feelings for you less strong or confusing. I definitely understand why it would feel that way, and I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon.
