I agree that after reading this article, my exact thoughts were that this was intended to make us 20 year olds realize we should stop taking things for granted. After our in-class discussion I now realize it could have been seen in various other ways regarding the thoughts on outsourcing, but how you have summarazed the article is very similar to how I have viewed it.

To answer your question,I don't see any wrong in outsourcing and helping those living in poor economies have more opportunity.

Good blog. I agree with you that Friedman was trying to make his readers feel bad.

I never really thought too much about outsourcing before reading this article, so I can't really say that my view has changed. I think it is an interesting essay; however, if I had strong feelings against outsourcing proir to reading this, I don't think it would be strong enough to really change my opinion on the topic.

Friedman's short piece was definitely an emotional appeal as you identified. I think that is the reason their are so many logical fallacies - it wasn't written to be logical

well done! i never really thought about Friedman trying to make us feel bad, but after reading your blog i deffinetly understand what your talking about now, however for your question i honestly didn't really know too much about outsourcing i guess in a way Friedman's essay lead my opinion to thinking that outsourcing is actually good for some people, and it provides a number of jobs which is good :)
