fit?

My quads (the muscles on the front of your thighs, for those of you who aren't insane exercise freaks or students of human anatomy) are so bloody sore I just had to pull out our marble rolling pin and roll them out.  GUH.

It's a good sort of sore, though. A bunch of my friends have been raving about Crossfit for years now, and at the beginning of ( Read more... )

YOU ROCK!

I am similarly fascinated by my exercise epiphanies.
Who knew? Everything they've always said about exercise turns out to be true!

Awesome! Personal trainers sound so cool--though I always worry they'll be uber-expensive. >_>

Still, I'm glad yours is working out for you. And, of course, that you're liking the burn! ^___^

*needs to get liking the burn too...*

It's not exactly cheap, but we feel that it's been a worthwhile investment. Does your school have a sports medicine program? You may be able to get one of the students to train you for cheap at the college gym...

Oh oh oh, and were you watching Kamen Rider Double? I loved it, it's up there between Blade/Agito and Den-O for me.

We need to catch up on IM or phone or something soon.

I think my school does have a sports medicine program. I never thought of seeing if one of the students there could take me on. Cool idea! *files it away for possible Spring use*

I haven't seen Kamen Rider Double yet--I'm watching Shinkenger at present, though, and loving it! ^__^ But wait, wait--Agito tied with Blade for you? Clearly, I need to see that series sooner rather than later. *__*

IM or phone--either is good for me. Do you still have all my info, or should I PM you? I don't have your phone number anymore, for the record; my last phone took all my numbers with it when it died. *grrr*

Alas, in my experience, exercise hasn't actually been all that effective for weight loss or flab reduction -- it always ends up coming down to the food, darn it. I go to the gym 4 to 6 days a week for an hour or more at a time, and even that doesn't really do anything if I'm not on top of the food situation...although, I do notice that if I stop going so often, I tend to gain weight. But yes, exercise is wonderful for making muscles appear where they never were before. ;) And while I get really sick of the gym and go through periods where I have to substitute walking outside, I notice that after a few days away, my muscles start to ache, like they're craving it or something.

Yeah, I am sadly aware that it's going to take a shift in eating habits to lose the Buddha. Oddly enough, in the last couple of months, I find that my appetite has decreased-- portion control is a lot easier when you don't feel as hungry.

My long-term goal is to look good in my size Medium American Apparel shirts. I actually got a couple of dress shirts this summer that I only looked good in if I sucked in my gut, so they're kind of my benchmark. ;)

The good news is, I am slowly starting to feel better about my fitness level, and my trainer says I've improved a lot since I started. It's a long road ahead, but like I said, I'm enjoying it for the first time ever, so I'm in for the long haul.

And if I ignore everything from the bottom of my chest to my waist when I look in the mirror, I don't look half bad.
