Tree Cutting

the tree cut,
dawn breaks early
at my little window

Today's haiku is by Masaoka Shiki; I found out about him today while writing this entry. It speaks to me because dawn coming earlier is a familiar sensation to Canadians - although for less bittersweet reasons than an old familiar tree being cut down.

Nope, the only Java I know is in the West Indies. I do post some entries under "friends only" for the sake of privacy, though. Do I know you in person?
