How very odd. Is it because they claimed it was like chess but not quite? Do eBay give the seller an explanation?

the game is like chess - it's the only thing eBay could have been really picky on though :( the rest of the text was:
You are bidding on the The Viking game.
It comes with all its original pieces with a natural linen playing board.
The rules are on the inside of the lid and the game is played similar to chess.
All contents are in very good condition from a smoke and pet free home.
I am always happy to combine postage where possible
UK P+P £2.50

Nicely worded or what?

I *think* eBay does give an explanation. I just know of some other auctions being pulled for copywrite infringements, even though that was exactly what they were selling (ie authentic items). It must be so annoying to have, say a 10 day auction, and it gets pulled 1 hour from auction end...

It was very nicely worded and I can see absolutely nothing wrong with it either! The only thing it could possibly be was the "similar to chess" which makes you think that this auction was pulled by a machine rather than a human!

I am curious to know whether it is a bored person working nightshift or an application running (probably the former unfortunately) - me being cynical ;)

the strikthrough text, btw, was supposed to be small-size font (oops) :P

They might have knicked the pic or text from another auction, that would come under copyright laws. But the seller can easily list it again if it's that.

have you still got auction details? you could ask for a private sale, buy it now? Possible the seller was dodgy & that's why they pulled auction.

I have one of those if you want it! Seriously - it hardly ever gets played so I wouldn't miss it!
