i wonder if a helper monkey qualifies as an acceptable pet to have in an apartment?

it would be fun if not purely for the fact it's a monkey, but really, it would be nice if it earned its keep a bit. like, doing the dishes, or cleaning the toilet. maybe i could teach him to do my laundry.

and i could dress him in smart little suits.

Depends upon local regulations on what animals can be kept within city limits as well as what the apartment building defines as acceptable pets.

(yeah i know it was a rhetorical question, but I'm feeling helpful)

awesome. more along the lines of "helpful" answers, i read a really interesting article in the NY times about assistant animals and the varying regulations on what breeds are acceptable and what conditions qualify a person to have one. pretty much if jerks who don't need one stopped abusing the system, the people who did need one would have an easier time.

maybe they should train animals to assist jerks with not being jerks? like a baboon that slaps people when they are assholes.

well, yes, there is that too i suppose.

but i think it's worth the risk if i get to dress him in little suits.
