Disclaimer: It ain't real, sweetcheeks.
A/N: This is dedicated to my friend Maggie cause she's super amazing. And this really long, like, 4,000 words or something and I hope I wrote it as well as I was hoping!
Nick Austin was a bona fide badass. Everyone in the whole damn school knew it, hell even the teachers knew it. He was failing school but had more street smarts than a gang member. His presence reeked awesome; all the girls wanted him to fuck them and all the guys hated him ‘cause they were jealous of his superiority.
He came to school everyday but he either slept in all his classes or just got sent to the office. It was his senior year and his badass-ness was at an all time high probably because this was his last year stuck in high school. Then he could run off and do whatever his nicotine infected heart desired.
Now, just because Nick was a rebel and retarded when it came to book smarts, he was nice enough. He wasn't a straight up bully, so to speak. For example, he didn’t dump freshmen in trashcans or stick their heads in toilets. He did mock them when they deserved it and would tell them if they were making douches out of themselves but he always had a reason behind it.
Nick Austin was such a badass he killed a motherfucker. Well, no, I lied. But seriously, he’s one bad seed you better not plant... or whatever.
Now, Joe Jonas, on the other hand. He was a goody two shoes. He was, how you say, Nick’s, paradoxical clone. For those of you that don’t know what paradoxical means, it means opposite. So, in a simpler sense, Joe is the good version of Nick.
Nick has no book smarts and all street smarts whereas Joe has no street smarts and all book smarts. Joe is getting all A’s whereas Nick is getting all F’s; Joe does what anybody and everybody tells him to, Nick does not; Joe tucks his shirt in when necessary, Nick wouldn’t tuck his shirt in for Jesus.
So, what I’m trying to say here is that Nick Austin and Joe Jonas are complete opposites. However, the only commonality they have is the fact that they are both equally as popular as the other. They knew who the other was, but they never crossed paths. Well, except for that one day Joe’s friend Matt knocked a book out of his arms and Nick picked it up for him, which, in turn caused Joe to blush slightly and thank him before he scurried away.
So, what I’m really trying to say is that even though as of right now, Nick Austin and Joe Jonas have nothing to do with each other. However, by the time the school year ends, they’ll have a hell of a whole lot to do with each other.
AUGUST 27TH, 2009
“Fuck you!”
“Mr. Austin, I would expect you to be so rude, but really, on the first day of school? Just go to the office,” an exasperated Mr. Smith said, watching the senior walk out of the classroom and off towards the office. This was going to be a long year.
When Nick pushed open the door to the highly air-conditioned office that reeked of 70s interior design, a round middle-aged woman looked up, and sighed.
“Already, Nicholas? You’re going to get expelled before you get to second semester,” the woman sighed, shaking her head a little before she turned to the student working in the office and told her to go deliver some call slips.
“What can I say, Mrs. Boyd, trouble always seems to find me,” Nick said, his charm clicking on and a small smile gracing his lips.
Mrs. Boyd sighed, again, “Mr. Huerta is busy right now so you may be waiting a while.”
Just then the door to the office swung open and in walked a somewhat tall, Hispanic looking guy with an office card hanging around his neck. This somewhat tall, Hispanic looking guy was Joe.
Joe had, what you call, a schoolgirl crush on Nick so when he saw said Nick, sitting on one of the chairs lined up in front of the counter, he had to veer suddenly so that he didn’t hit his hip on the counter.
“Uh.. here Mrs. Boyd. This girl wasn’t there,” Joe said, voice a little shaky as he handed the call slip to Mrs. Boyd. Her thank you was distant and garbled as Joe looked back over at Nick, who was staring at him.
Joe looked away and went back to work, doing nothing. He sat down on a chair behind the counter and texted his friend, Kevin.
You will not believe who is in the office!
Kevin replied a few seconds later: Idk, Elvis?
Joe rolled his eyes. No, you dumbfuck. Nick Austin. THE Nick Austin
Oooh, your boyfriend! ;D
Stfu, he’s not my boyfriend.
You wish he was though
…You shouldn’t be texting in class
Hahahaha, later dude
Joe smiled and put his phone back in his pocket and when he looked up he was expecting to see Nick there but he wasn’t. Joe frowned and looked towards the offices to see Mr. Huerta’s office door closed.
Oh well, chances were Nick would be back in here again so Joe didn’t care that much.
SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2009
Joe was hardly paying any attention to the girl babbling away to him. Okay so, she wasn’t just any girl, she was Joe’s friend Carly. But she was babbling away about how she was worried about passing her test but Joe was too busy discreetly watching Nick from across the quad.
“…And then I had to study for four hou-“
“Carly, you work in the office, right?” Joe asked suddenly, sitting upright and turning to look his friend in the eye.
“Yeah, why?”
“Does Nick Austin get sent to the office a lot during your period?”
“No. Fuck, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him during third. Why?”
Joe shrugged, “He’s constantly in the office during first and I don’t know, it just seemed a bit odd, even for him.”
Carly smiled, “Maybe he likes you,” she cooed, drawing the I out in ‘likes’.
Joe blushed and shook his head, “No he doesn’t. He’s too busy, being a badass and fucking every girl in the school and doing as many drugs as humanly possible.”
Carly laughed at this, showing off her braces and almost annoyingly high-pitched laugh at which Joe watched in amusement, “Dude, you’re trippin’. He doesn’t even like girls. Ever since he fucked Scott Bauer last week. People are saying he’s gay and shit.”
Joe’s face took an expression of utter shock, “No fucking way!” Carly nodded animatedly at this, “Oh my God, I might actually have a chance with him now!”
Carly laughed again, in earnest, “Yeah, but mainly because you’re a closet slut.”
Joe blushed and looked away, or, at Nick, “Shut up. It’s not my fault my ex has a mouth the size of fucking Texas.”
Carly just shook her head and went back to eating her lunch while Joe continued to watch Nick. Joe was in the midst of a rather X-rated daydream about the senior when he looked over at Joe suddenly. His dark eyes seemed to burn holes into his face and Joe looked away, flushing deeply.
But what he didn’t notice was the Nick continued to stare at him for the next couple of seconds, until his attention was drawn elsewhere by one of his friends.
SEPTEMBER 20TH, 2009
The only sound in the dimly lit room was a ticking clock. Or if you really wanted to hear everything you could hear the steady breath of an 18 year old laying on his bed. Said 18 year old was on his side, staring at the water stained and cracked wall, a hand tucked under his head and the other lay in front of him.
His thoughts were a flurry of many things related to the same, one thing: Joe Jonas. Nick was stuck in a rather large and salty pickle. He had developed and little, crush as normal people would call it, on the junior and even though he didn’t want to like him, he was starting to.
Not like as in, ‘Wow, he’s hot I wanna fuck the shit out of him.” No, it was more like, ‘Awe, he’s so cute. His eyes are pretty, his smile is so cute, and his little freckle mole things are quite appealing and-‘ well, you get the point.
Nick was stumped as to why he felt this way- Nick Austin did not have legit feelings towards people! It was unheard of; blasphemy; preposterous! It just, didn’t happen. It was like the sun shining at night and the moon being out during the day. It was if girls had dicks and dudes had vaginas.
That’s how weird it was.
However, it did not stop the ever-growing feelings towards the Hispanic looking boy. Nick sighed and turned to lie on his back, he glanced and looked at the clock, it was 7 a.m. He rubbed his face tiredly and came to the somewhat sad realization that Joe was the only reason making Nick go to school as of late.
Nick sighed, rubbing at his face before he sat up in bed, stumbling out towards the bathroom so he could take a shower and start his day off with getting in trouble, even though he didn’t really want to.
TWO HOURS LATER
Joe looked up from his book when he heard the door open, ignoring the fluttering feeling in his heart when he saw it was Nick and glanced at Mrs. Boyd.
“Again, Nick? It seems like this is becoming a daily thing,” the elderly woman chided.
Nick actually looked sheepish, and just took a seat under the TV that was bolted to the top of the wall. Mrs. Boyd was right, Nick’s visits had become daily and she had a sneaking suspicion that it had a large part to do with Joe. Nick never got sent to the office during periods 2-5 and she would frequently catch him watching Joe reading or doing homework during the period.
It was just a little odd to her.
OCTOBER 20TH 2009
“Joe! Fucking, hell, Joe… wait…” Carly called after Joe, who turned around when he heard his friend.
“What’s wrong?”
“I… need, to tell you… something,” she said, still slightly out of breath. A few moments later she stood up straight suddenly, pushing her unruly hair out of the way and looked at Joe, a weird kind of sadness in her blue eyes.
Joe raised an eyebrow at her, “Yes..?”
“Your ex, Matt, he blabbed to the whole school about your guys’ sex life.”
Joe’s jaw dropped, “Excuse me?”
Carly nodded, “I didn’t hear him say anything but I heard some girls talking about it in the locker room after dance. They didn’t say anything bad, though. They were all, ‘I feel bad for Joe. Matt’s such a dick’. Stuff like that.”
Joe looked off to the side, he was pissed. Like, straight up pissed. He was scared, too. He was sad. He was hurt. Hell, he was everything except happy. His reputation would be ruined now, well, only if Matt had said everything, which Joe really hoped he didn’t.
“Do you know what he said exactly?” Joe asked, almost afraid to hear the answer.
Carly shook her head, “No. I’m so sorry, Joe.”
Joe shrugged, “It’s not your fault… Well, I better get going; I have a lot of homework. If you hear anything else, call me, yeah?”
“Of course. Bye,” Carly responded, offering a sympathetic smile before she turned around and started to walk on home.
Joe turned to leave and on his way towards the parking lot he saw Nick. Within the last month, him and the senior had actually exchanged a few words when Nick got sent to the office. Most of them Nick asking him questions or Joe telling him that Mr. Huerta wanted to see him but hey, it was better than nothing.
When Joe walked past Nick, he kept his head down so he didn’t notice the curly haired boy watch Joe walk away, a little concerned as to why he looked so sad.
OCTOBER 21ST, 2009
Joe was walking back to the office after dropping off a call slip when a tall, muscular guy named Todd Brewer approached him. “Hey, Jonas.”
Joe turned around to face the guy, “May I help you?”
Todd sauntered up to Joe, his arms hanging from his shoulders like tree branches, “So, I talked to your ex yesterday. You know, Matt Smith.”
Fear knotted itself in Joe stomach, he tried not to let it show, “Oh, uh, yeah?”
Todd smirked, “Yeah. You know what he said?” He now had Joe almost pinned against the back of one of the buildings. They were at the back of the campus, hardly anyone came back here so it anything happened Joe would be helpless.
“Hm?”
“That you gave good head… and that when he fucked you, you’d moan real nice,” Todd said, he had gotten close enough now that when he spoke, Joe could feel his breath brushing up against his cheek, his tree branch arms on either side of Joe, blocking his way out.
Joe’s eyes widened and he inhaled sharply, “I’m sorry but, none of that ever happened.”
All while this was happening, Nick had been sneaking out of class to meet one of his friends so they could smoke a little behind the school but when he saw Joe, caged in by Todd, he stopped. Moving so he was hidden by one of the old classrooms and watched closely. Joe did not look like he wanted to be there and while this wouldn’t bother Nick, it did this time.
“Aw, don’t be shy. I won’t hurt you. But you know, I bet he’s right, Matt. I could imagine you being a total whore. You’ve got lips made for cocksucking, you know.”
Joe gaped, “Ew, you pig! Back the fuck off! I’m not going to just, suck some random guys’ dick, perv!” He struggled to get away from Todd but just succeeded in upsetting the beast.
“Oh come on, I know you’re a slut, now do it or I’ll beat the crap out of you, and you know no one will even know.”
Joe stopped his struggling momentarily to stare the senior directly in the face, “Oh you’d be surprised, I scream like a girl.”
Todd frowned, “Shut up, cockwhore, and suck,” he growled before he tried to push Joe down towards his crotch. Seeing this set something off in Nick and he walked up to Todd, placed a hand on his chest and harshly pushed him away before turning to Joe, something in his eyes that kind of scared Joe.
“Go back to the office, don’t wait for me and don’t come back,” he said sternly, his stance making Joe obey even though he didn’t really want to.
OCTOBER 22ND, 2009
“Dude, what the hell happened yesterday? Everyone’s talking about how apparently you put Brewer in the hospital?” Nick friend, Kyle asked.
“Don’t be a dumbass, if Nick put him in the hospital, he wouldn’t be here. He just beat him up,” a short skinny guy named Jared replied.
“But why?” Kyle asked, looking at Nick who was just sitting against a wall, an unlit joint next to him.
“Didn’t you hear? Nick’s got a little boyfriend,” Jared said, laughing a little but stopping when Nick glared at him.
“Oh yeah, that junior. I heard that the kids ex told the whole school about how he’s a closet slut and then Brewer tried to get some in the middle of the fucking campus.”
“I heard it was in the back, by the portables.”
“It was,” Nick said, his voice scratchy from over usage then not being used at all, “I’m gonna go. I’ll see you guys later,” he said, standing up to go leave, turning around to flip Jared off when he teased him about going to see Joe and making kissy noises.
OCTOBER 31ST, 2009
The room was filled with smoke and smelled of booze and weed as Nick and Jared passed a joint between themselves. Nick was just in shorts and he vaguely wondered how he got like that. He slowly came back down to Earth and when he did so, he heard Jared signing what sounded like Hannah Montana.
“You get the beeeeeesssstttt of both worl’s!” Jared sang, voice going loud then quiet.
Nick laughed and reached for the joint, bringing it up to his lips and taking a hit. He blew the smoke out and suddenly felt guilty. His thoughts drifted towards Joe. Joe and what he would think if he knew what Nick was doing. Nick frowned and handed the joint back to Jared, he flung an arm over his eyes and went to sleep, and thinking the now prominent and persistent feelings of guilt would go away.
NOVEMBER 2ND, 2009
The first day back to school, Nick asked Joe to help him in math. After Nick had come up to Joe, looking a little ashamed and asked if Joe could help him with his algebra which Joe had happily said he could, Joe almost laughed at how cliché it had been.
Especially when after a few weeks of Nick coming over after school on the days he had math, they had become quite close and even though they didn’t really talk at school, outside of school they were almost always talking.
Of course, they exchanged numbers so in case Joe couldn’t help or they had to relocate and they hadn’t seen the other at school it was easy to do so.
NOVEMBER 30TH, 2009
“Hey, so, my friend’s having a party this Saturday, you wanna come?” Nick asked, standing with Joe in front of the front door.
Joe smiled, “Thank you for the invitation but... I don’t do parties. Besides, I have to baby-sit my sister.”
Nick frowned, “Aw, oh well.”
Joe, who could see that Nick was disappointed and now felt bad, bit his lip, trying to maybe think of something they could do, “Uh, if you want… you can help me baby-sit?” Joe offered, shrugging a little.
Nick smiled, “Okay. The party probably isn’t even going to be that great anyway. Well, I better get going, let me know what time to come over, okay?”
Joe smiled and nodded, opening the door to let Nick out. Joe shuffled his feet absentmindedly as he watched Nick leave, wondering if it was weird that whenever Nick was over, it just felt right.
DECEMBER 5TH, 2009
“So, Nicks going to come over and keep you company?” Joe’s mom asked while she got ready.
Joe nodded, “Yeah. I texted him a few minutes ago saying he could come over now so he should be here soon.”
Joe’s mother looked at him, a look of happiness and a little bit of sympathy, “Okay. You know, sweetheart, I can tell you like him.” At this, Joe blushed a little and looked off to the side but his mom gently grabbed his chin and turned his head back towards her, “And I can tell he likes you too.”
At this a feeling of happiness erupted in the pit of Joe’s stomach, and he bit his lip and his mom sighed after a long moment, “I just want you to be happy; I’m glad you like him, he seems like a good kid. I can tell he’d take care of you but just, be safe, okay? Looks can be deceiving so tread carefully.” Oh, dear mother, you have no idea how true your words are. Joe thought to himself.
“I will, trust me.” Joe replied before Joe’s phone beeped and he looked at it to see a text from Nick saying, “I’m here.” The first day Nick had come over, he’d been to nervous to come up to the door- as ironic that may be- and neither of them really cared enough to make Nick actually come up to the door so this was the usual routine.
“He’s here,” Joe said, looking up at his mom and then he turned to walk out the room, his mother following him. Joe went downstairs and opened the door and walked outside to the steps in front of his house to wait for Nick.
“Joe,” his mom called as she started to get in the car, “Kaylee’s still sleeping and she probably will be for the rest of night but wake her up to take her medicine and check on her every now and then, okay?” She explained at which Joe nodded.
Joe’s mom greeted Nick before she got in her car and drove off, “So, where is your mom going anyway?” Nick asked as he held the door open for Joe.
“A date. Apparently the guy is like, an ex-convict so she’s kinda scared but interested.” Joe said, laughing under his breath.
Nick nodded, “Oh, well then.”
“Mhm, so, what did your friends say when you said you wouldn’t be going to the party?” Joe asked he sat down on the couch with Nick, tingles erupting throughout his body when Nick sat down a little close and their arms touched.
Nick chuckled quietly, “They made fun of me.”
“Well those aren’t very good friends.”
Nick shrugged, “They were kidding. They always tease me about you being my boyfriend and I’m just like, no,” he explained, laughing a little towards the end.
“Is that bad?” Joe asked, but instantly regretted it, he really hated word vomit. Now Nick’s going to know that he likes him and just- ugh.
Nick raised his eyebrows, “No. It’s just that it’s not true… as of right now.”
Hearing this made Joe get butterflies, “What… what’s that supposed to mean?”
Nick gave Joe a pointed look, “Do I really need to explain myself?”
Joe smiled sheepishly, “No. You don’t it’s just… I don’t know. It seems so surreal.”
Nick smiled a little at him, “You’re changing who I am as a person, Joe. My mom is so happy that I’m actually passing most of my classes and I’m not always getting into trouble anymore. I’m not the same retarded, stoner party animal I was two months ago, and I can’t say I’m complaining.”
“That has got to be the sweetest thing anybody has ever said to me, really. I’m surprised, but happy that I have such a good affect on you,” Joe said sincerely, he looked down when he felt Nick’s hand on his and laced their fingers together.
A lump formed in Joe’s throat and he was about to say something else when suddenly Nick leaned forward and kissed him. It caught Joe off guard, but it was in the best way possible. His free hand reached up to rest on Nick’s shoulder as his lips moved against Nicks.
Joe pulled away a moment later and smiled wide at Nick briefly before wrapping his arms around Nick’s waist and leaning against him, a feeling on contentment warming his body when Nick’s arm slide around Joe’s shoulders to hold him close.
DECEMBER 25TH, 2009
Ever since that Saturday night back in November, Joe and Nick had been nearly inseparable. Nick’s friends were pissed when Nick stopped hanging out with them but not enough to really do anything about it. Joe’s friends, Kevin and Carly, were happy for him, and happy that such a feared- yet respected- person was dating one of their best friends.
Nick and Joe had become “official” a week after their first kiss. They wanted to spend a little time just kind of trying it out and seeing how it went, and to get to know each other better. Obviously it went well and now they were dating. The couple surprised many people, thinking it was a little random and well, it was, but who cares because they were straight up adorable.
Joe’s mom invited Nick over for Christmas so he was over for a little during the day. He had to leave around four for dinner and saying good-bye ending up taking a little longer than expected.
“I need to go,” Nick said, hugging his boyfriend close, pressing a kiss to the side of his neck.
“I know…” Joe replied, pulling away, leaning up to kiss Nick quickly before gently pushing him away, “You’re going to be late.”
Nick frowned, “I know. I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said, turning around to leave and Joe was about to respond when Nick turned back around and pressed a chaste kiss to Joe’s lips.
Joe chuckled a little against Nick’s mouth, “Nicholas, go!” He said, laughing a little.
Nick smiled, “Okay. I’m going, see? I’m walking to my car, leaving.”
Joe laughed, leaning against the doorframe, watching Nick drive off.
APRIL 2ND, 2010
“Jesus Christ, Joe,” Nick moaned, eyes drifting down to watch his dick slide in and out of Joe’s mouth.
Joe looked up for a moment, sucking a little harder, his cheeks hollowing out. His hands slid slowly over Nick’s hips up to his lower abdomen pressing down a little to still the movement of Nick’s hips.
“Shit, Joe, I’m gonna… stop,” Nick said breathlessly, sitting up the second Joe pulled off to wrap his arms around Joe’s slim waist and move him so he was sitting in Nick’s lap.
Joe looked down at Nick, his hands cradling the older boys’ face, “I want you to fuck me.”
“That can be arranged,” Nick responded, pressing kisses along the line of Joe’s shoulders and on his chest.
Nick could practically hear Joe roll his eyes when he didn’t react immediately and suddenly his Joe was gone, he almost protested but Joe just laid down next to Nick, legs bent and spread, “Chop chop, I have to be home by one,” Joe teased, only half serious.
Nick sighed and moved to settle between Joe’s legs, eyes raking over his naked form momentarily, “Do I need to stretch you?”
Joe blushed, “No. Just lube will do.”
Nick nodded and coated his dick, “Ready?” Joe nodded in response, biting his lip and remembering to relax. When Nick pushed in, Joe couldn’t hold back the moan that ripped it’s way from his throat.
The feeling was an old, familiar one. Some unwanted memories started to flood Joe’s mind so he reached up, pulling Nick down to kiss him deeply, distracting himself from remembering the last time he did this.
Nick was good. Like, really good, in bed. Hardly five minutes had passed before Joe was already close to coming. He was almost embarrassed by it but good God, with the first class fuck he was receiving he was lucky he’d lasted this long already.
Nick hit his prostate particularly hard and Joe nearly screamed, “Fuck, oh my God Nick, right there!”
Joe’s chest was heaving and his body was starting to get sore from being so tense for so long. Nick’s chest and neck were flushed and his fingers dug into Joe’s hips as he held them tight, never faltering in his thrusts.
Joe reached down to circle his dick with his hand and with merely three or four jerks of his hand, he was coming all over his hand, clenching impossibly tight around Nick with a moan of his name.
Nick groaned and sped up, coming into Joe a few moments later. Moments passed and soon Nick had taken his spot on his bed and Joe was now getting dressed to leave, he only had five minutes to get home.
Once he was dressed, he sat down on the edge of Nick’s bed, gently pushing his damp curls out of his face, “I’m sorry to end this so suddenly,” he said quietly.
“It’s okay.” Nick replied, reaching for his covers, “I would walk down with you but I might not make it back upstairs, I’m sorry.”
Joe smiled, “It’s alright. I can walk myself. I’ll see you tomorrow,” he said, leaning down to kiss Nick sweetly before he stood up and left.
MAY 2ND, 2010
“Baby, what’s wrong?” Joe asked, looking at Nick with concern etched on his face.
“I love you,” Nick said suddenly, biting his lip nervously.
Joe’s eyes widened and he leaned forward to kiss Nick, “I love you too..!” He whispered against Nick’s lips after they had pulled away and were resting their foreheads against one another.
“Good. ‘Cause if you didn’t, I probably would have cried,” Nick admitted quietly.
Joe cuddled up against Nick, nuzzling his face against Nick’s neck, “Crying is bad.”
JUNE 19TH, 2010
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and was Nick was over at Joe’s house, watching Kaylee with him. They were out in the backyard playing Joe’s five-year-old sister when he heard the phone rang and he went inside to answer it.
When he came back outside, a feeling of utter calmness washed over him as he watched his boyfriend of almost a year sitting on the grass with Kaylee, letting her tell him which dolls he was going to play with.
Joe’s laughed bubbled up out of him when Nick made his doll die. Kaylee yelled at him, saying Barbie wasn’t allowed to die. Nick nodded, saying he understood now and continued to play with Kaylee and Joe couldn’t help but think that he could really spend the rest of his life with this amazing man. Yeah, he was young but he knew enough that what him and Nick had was something more than just a high school relationship.
