while i marshall a few more character-related probable tl;dr about asib, here is a minor mystery that has been gnawing at me:
one thousand, eight hundred and ninety-five. it's chekov's hit counter. if you go to john's blog, it's there, staring you right in the face. it wasn't the passcode to irene's phone, and these people don't do anything by accident, so;
what happened in 1895?
at first i thought maybe that's when the final problem took place so it would be a reference to reichenbach, but i checked and that happened in 1891. the empty house of course, three years later, would have been 1894 (i'm pretty sure watson says this at the beginning). the bruce-partington plans happened in 1895, but we've already had that in tgg.
i've tried googling the actual year 1895 but you know what? a lot of damn things happened in that year, just like every other damn year.
so what on earth is it? on the one hand, i want the next two episodes to hurry up and get here, because i can't stand not knowing. on the other hand, it's going to be a damn hard year after reichenbach, and i sure as hell could take or leave that!
