Finally Home

Finally, Alexander, Kelvin and I are home for the first time all together. Alexander's operation was on the 19th November. They took a piece of his small bowel and grafted it on a pedicle up behind his stomach and attached it between the gap between his Oesophagus and stomach. The operation took 8 hours in total. I'm glad the first operation went well :)

You must be be so happy to have him home, and spend time as a family. :)

I know I'm miles and miles and miles away, but if you ever need anything, you know you have people up here that care for you :)

Thanks jane - really appreciate it. Yes we're both really happy to be home. Although we have to learn to be proper full time parents for the first time now hehe

This is great news! It's fantastic that he's settling in so well, I guess he just knows that it's home. :)
Brilliant! All set for your first Christmas together. Well done to you all, it's something so stressful but you seem to have taken it in your stride.
This might sound weird but I'm proud. :)

It is indeed stressful. We couldn't quite work out why he was projectile vomiting after feeds until I read the super nanny book, which said refluxy babies shouldn't be laid flat. Since laying him on his side he's fine. Now we need to encourage him to learn to drink more milk. He seems to have come to a stale mate between him and the bottle and wont take more than 40ml per feed lol.
