Show of hands: pan-Sutcliff kinkmeme?

I've been wondering if Greater Sutcliff Fandom would support a modest fic prompt meme (those are still a thing, right? Is there a Tumblr equivalent? I'm out of touch), as the_eagle_kink doesn't seem to cover the other books. I thought it'd be nice to have a place to suggest and get prompts outside the more formal structure and schedule of sutcliff_swap and other fests. But I ( Read more... )

I...would not want it to be framed as a kinkmeme, personally, for tl;dr reasons I don't want to go into. Part of me thinks a prompts post would be fun, but I'm honestly not sure there's enough activity to support one. Although certainly I like the idea of a sort of clearinghouse for adoptable plotbunnies, I guess, since I tend to get them after a (re)read but don't necessarily feel like writing all of them.

This year's Yuletide turnout was almost nonexistent for Sutcliff fandoms, and I think riventhorn has talked about expanding the Eagle Fanmedia Challenge to include all Sutcliff, so between that and Swap I feel like there's a fair amount of activity for a tiny fandom.

But eh, take anything I say with a grain of salt; it's not like I'm active right now, and while I'd like to write more Sutcliff fic again someday I'm pretty burned out on it right now.

Heh, I didn't really want to frame it as a kinkmeme either, I've just never heard another term used for that kind of comm. Ficmeme?

I was thinking a prompts post would work better as a sticky post that people could easily find and leave ideas in longterm, rather than a one-time flurry, but like you, I fear there's not enough activity in the fandom, let alone any one comm, for people to bother with it.

But if EFC expands, that's good! Plus Swap gives people the pimping post to talk up various books in, even if you don't (like me :() participate in the actual exchange.

Promptmeme, probably.

But yeah, I don't know. Having a sticky prompt post probably wouldn't hurt anything, and maybe it would give people a place to hunt for ideas if they get stuck on Swap or Fanmedia or something? I don't know.

I'm guessing from the lack of responses that perhaps there is not enough activity to sustain such a thing?

I'd read, maybe even join in a bit, but don't really have the spoons to push it forward. :-(
