Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed listening to that. Especially that she liked "American cowboy movies." I also loved the part where the interviewer pointed out that most of her narrators in her books are male and said girls couldn't identify with them, and she promptly responded by saying that girls had no problem identifying with them! :)
Now I'm desperately curious which westerns she liked. Old black and white ones? Sergio Leone? Someone needs to write a Celtic-cattle-raids-as-western fic now.
Hah, yes, even if the gender essentialism weren't complete bollocks, it would hardly follow that girls couldn't identify with characters a woman had written. It's interesting that she said she couldn't write from a woman's point of view.
