Thanks so much for this! I haven't read the book for 35 years so will enjoy doing so again. For all his faults I find Alcibiades fascinating. Have you read the recent bookk on him? I'm in bed at the moment but will pop back in with the authors name when I'm up.

Enjoy! No, I haven't kept up with my studies at all. I find the guy pretty punch-in-the-faceable, but I'm certainly no expert so I'm willing to have my mind changed.

I find him fascinating, partly because he's so full of contradictions.

The recent book I got that's pretty good is:

Alcibiades: Athenian playboy, general and traitor by PJ Rhodes.

It's well worth getting. A pretty balanced view.
