Oh, god I've only read two of these, and one is Harry Potter - I don't even like Harry Potter! The other was The Little Princess. I can't remember what I thought of that.

I did try to read Anne of Green Gables but it was (imo) so sticky sweet and contrived, it made me nauseated.

I was OBSESSED with how twee the Anne books were. OBSESSED. I got them all ordered into my library, one by one, even the weird books that don't even have Anne in them. Crazy baby Jane.

A lot of these are on here because I need to reread them for my dissertation. I haven't read them since I was a kid, so I don't actually know if what I'm saying about them is, you know, true

Aw baby Jane, you loved then because they were twee, and that's allowed. She wrote a lot of books, didn't she! Any of the non-Anne books worth mentioning?

She did! I got old before I read the last couple, though. And I don't even remember the titles of the non-Anne ones! They're little collections of, basically, village gossip from Anne's neighbourhood, recounted by the older ladies of the books.

I used to love Anne of Green Gables! The highlight of my wee 12-year-old life was when I finally got to go visit Prince Edward Island.
