It looks like someone underwent surgery, and if the mirror is anything to go by, it was a delicate one.

Pascal is... surprised - he would have expected his colleague to ask for assistance, if only for the patient's sake. Having no ego, he does not expect to be asked to lead surgeries (nor does he want to be: he is a family doctor, not a surgeon), but that doesn't mean he can't help in the op room.

And so when Stein comes in, he will find Pascal quietly making notes from his last visit to baby Cairn. Without looking up, he'll inquire, "Long evening yesterday, Stein?"

"Yes, I was conducting an exploratory surgery relating to an old knee injury, making sure the tendons hadn't re-separated," he replies, settling onto the roller chair at a desk he likely took for his own. And there might be a bulge of bandaging visible under his trouser leg.

Pascal nods, going to the coffee pot, and starts preparing some for himself. "You do realize you may always ask me for assistance," he says idly. "I could do with additional surgical training."

"I admit, I'm so accustomed to working on my own that I didn't think to ask," he says, hiking up his trouser leg to adjust the bandages, which are just below his knee. Hm... "But, I'm more than happy to accept the offer, as long as you don't mind working on a colleague."
