I dont see faith as the opposite of fate. Free will and randomness, to me, are direct foils to fate. Recall Bacharach on the subject of fate: "Some people believe that there is no such thing as a coincidence, and that everything is governed by fate or a higher power. Me? My answer is no. They're coincidences."

ah well to me, having faith is knowing that your hope will come true somehow. Believing in fate is thinking that whatever happens is something try to mess you up.
