Did her tell you to shut up, or did a student tell you, since you only wrote in Mr. Kanter's class, which could mean many different people telling you to shut up?
eh... i placed mr kanter on a higher priority than what i see as a mostly empty ritual. why am i pledging my loyalty to a piece of cloth? sure its a symbol of the US... so why isn't it just "I pledge allegiance to the United States"? i'm loyal to the country, but i dont need to remind myself and others of it everyday.
ok, well personally I think pledging my loyalty to my country every day is worthwhile. As an ABC I think it's an important thing to remind myself of... look at the Japanese Americans. And I guess you could say my family had some bad happenings due to loyalty questions... which I'm not gonna talk about. America's a nice country, we've got a lot of rights. I mean, unauthorized wiretapping really isn't as bad as some things that have happened in other countries, even "free countries." sheesh and there wasn't anybody making a big fuss about, just shutting their mouths. Taking the time to say the Pledge of Allegiance reallllly doesn't cost much, it's not like anyone's imposing a huge burden on you whenever you have to do it...
but regardless of that...
The Pledge of Allegiance is MUCH more important to me than hearing Kanter talk about a girl sticking a cell phone up her butt >.< He yells at us to shut up during morning announcements and then he tells the most stupid story during the middle of the pledge and nearly the whole class
