Admittedly, it would have been hard to spot my markedly odd accent from two short sentences (one of which was just "Hola"), but I was still amused.

Meanwhile, there's me sitting in the middle of a restaurant telling an old Spanish man "No habla Espanol!" and him then saying in English "bullshit"...
At least with Italian I have some idea what they're saying if they speak really, really slowly.

Do they teach Spanish Spanish or Latin American Spanish in France? I should have asked some of my students while I was there. I'm mostly wondering how well they cope with the lisp.
