This is some good reading! I love the way you write. Welcome back, by the way. I'm glad things have smoothed out for you. I've got to say, although life prevented you from updating for a while, Your writing, and your story remained very consistent. In fact, I just glanced through part 8 to refresh my memory and dived right in. Your story is so vivid and memorable, and your characterizations make feel like I know your Spock, Gaila, and Nyota. You made my eyes glisten in this part, more than once, too. Thanks for the wonderful update!

Aw. Thank you so much for the lovely compliments on my writing. I've finally gotten a new hard drive in my writing computer, and I'm reloading programs on it. But it's slow-going, and I'm trying to get a new word processing program loaded... *sigh* it's a disaster. So I haven't really been able to do more on my stories that aren't already published somewhere else....

Hopefully, the computer stuff will be figured out and soon! But thank you for your patience.

Hi there - OK, it really is time I commented, it's been so bad of me not to earlier. I totally understand about real life getting in the way, I've kind of sunk back into lurking these past few months, which is not good.

But you know what?

Sometimes I logon to LJ just to check your name in the author list on Spock/Uhura to see if you've updated!

This is hands-down my favourite story on the whole site. I love your characterisation, descriptions, scene-setting, pace... everything.

I'm SO glad you're back, you need to know there are people out there hanging on your every word! Thank you for this lovely, heart-wrenching chapter - the balance in his Vulcan-ness & her humanity here is so well portrayed. Maybe it's not always the Vlcan that makes mistakes with his lack of emotion, but the human who makes mistakes through her over-emotion... an interesting take on their relationship.

Thank you thank you for so many weeks of joy. Can't wait for the next instalment. :) xx

*sniff* This is too sweet! Thank you so much. Apologies for not responding sooner--I've only recently (like on Saturday!) got my computer back w/ a new hard drive, and I'm putting my programs back on. Unfortunately, I don't have MS word. Yet. Hopefully soon, so I haven't been able to work on the next part.

I'm so glad you updated!!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED this chapter :) My favorites stories are the ones where they face REAL issues and not everything is perfect rainbows and sunshine all the way through (don't get me wrong I love a good fluff piece from time to time) - you have handled this situation (that I think sometimes some of us forget about) with tact and grace and both of them being very in character! Can't wait for your next chapter!!

I enjoyed this chapter so much I went back to the beginning and re-read the whole story up to this point. You write so well and I really like your Spock, his voice and actions are very in character, very Vulcan!
