I'm actually one of the ones in the workshop (the one??) who said something akin to the male role model thing, but it came out differently than I meant or intended and implied things I didn't mean

I wasn't at the gathering but i have a hard time believing that anyone would take your comment as "we should all get married". That is ridiculous. Also please remember when dealing with this issue that a lot of people get irritated, angry and irrate over statements and behaviours they see in others that they don't like about themselves. It wouldn't have touched a nerve if the nerve wasn't there. So don't fall over yourself apologizing about this
