I am with you on the whole not understanding why you would pay for a dump when you could have like....a huge house for that much somewhere else. Unless you are dictated by profession to having to live in NYC and have a job you know can afford to live there, it isn't worth it in my mind. (and I spent two months trying to do it too).

just so you know, no one i know is that kind of housing situation, and i have a feeling these type of people would save a month's worth of garbage in columbus if they do in new york, a place that has multiple trash days per week.

and it's completely worth it.

Yeah, you're right. I was just so horrified. And it seemed kind of ironic that I was walking back (after UCB) talking about living there and how great it was and then we come home to maggots, roaches, and mice.

It didn't really spoil the experience - just the enjoyment of my leftovers.

WHAT?! YOU WERE IN NYC AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT?!

Dude, you were probably ten feet away from my apartment at some point in Williamsburg. I would've totally taken you out for some sort of awkward dinner.

RIDICULOUS!

I know, right! Where do you live? We were on Richardson/Kingsland, I think.

I thought I saw you on the subway, but you were on the platform and I was in a car.

Really, I stood outside your apartment waiting...but...you never came.
