That is wood laminate - I wrote about it in the flooring thread you started. I don't recommend it, and I will forever tell anyone who considers it that you MUST install it yourself. It's very easy to lay, but it is also so easy to damage on installation, that I would not trust anyone to do it for me. After I realized that banging the planks too hard together could damage them, I started running my hands over every joint after installing each plank. Even if it was hardly noticeable to the eye, I knew that time would not be kind to the ends of the boards that had lifted just a bit.

Hi! I just popped over from CC - I use LJ much more. I would really like to add you. I think you have wonderful home advice to give and I'm all about reno right now, lol!
