Wow! Do you have to pay a lot for shipping?

Nope - I'm picking it up. It's north of Boston, about an hour and a half away. I do have to find transportation though. I have friends with mini-vans, but I might need to borrow or rent a pick-up for the day. I did that, you can bet I'd be hauling a lot of lumber that same day just to make it worthwhile! (I need to start framing in the basement - my son is getting impatient for the drum riser we've been planning.)

Whooo! Nice purchase. I like it a lot. Future Kitchen will definitely have a moveable butcher block of sorts - I've always had a thing for them.

Oh, man - I've looked at millions of 'em. When you get to that point, just keep in mind that the quality, materials and prices vary widely. Not everything that calls itself butchers block - is.

It does feel really good! Especially when I remember where we started.

Rock on! What a good find on ebay. SCORE! I love it, and other than color...it's a good facsimile of the one you want.

Wanna hear something funny? My brother found this for me. I have saved searches on eBay, but he found this as soon as it was listed and I used "Buy it Now." He had no idea I'd had this one in mind as a fall-back when he suggested it.

My brother has found several pieces for me on eBay, most of which I pass on, but I have several things for which I can thank him.
