A quote from the alleged Al-Quaeda statement, taken from the BBC website.
"Nation of Islam and Arab nation: Rejoice for it is time to take revenge against the British Zionist Crusader government in retaliation for the massacres Britain is committing in Iraq and Afghanistan. The heroic mujahideen have carried out a blessed raid in London. Britain is ( Read more... )

Well, the death toll from the BBC currently stands at 2 and rising, so it's more or less what we used to get from the IRA on a fairly regular basis; bit of a shock, but everything seems to have worked OK so far and to be frank, it's only about doubled or trebled the murder rate. To be honest, if they were paying attention, they wouldn't be blowing people up anyway .. bunch of bloody nutters. Being hysterical about it just because it's a terrorist attack rather than, for example, a radiation leak, doesn't really make much sense.

and also odd because the uk (and london specifically) houses the western headquarters of a couple islamic fundamentalist terror organizations...there was a huge campaign about 3 years ago to put the UK on teh state department list of "state sponsors of terror"

Why are they bombing where their bread is buttered, so to speak..

I'm not sure I'm especially defiant although it won't stop me going on the tube again, or working in London...I won't change anything about my life just because of this.

I don't think I'm even angry. I'm sad it happened, and sad that anyone thinks that killing and injuring people is a good way to go about protest, whatever it is they're trying to protest about. I'm sorry people are that ignorant that violence is all they know.

I'm meant to be working near Bank tomorrow...I was planning to drive in but all the same it might not be the best idea.

Well, quite. I mean, do these people not realise that we're British? We went through more than this 60 years ago and the worst that happened was that people moaned about not having bananas for a bit.

It'll take more than a couple of beardy loonies with dynamite in their pants to bring London to a standstill. I can imagine the casualty units of all central London hospitals now, teeming with blackened survivors all stood round saying how it looks like rain and how they hope Maxwell will be evicted tomorrow night.

They should come up to Manchester. We'll kick their fucking arses.

Oooh, you're back :)

I suspect that they would get their arses kicked in London, if anyone knew who they were. We can be pretty tough when we get our backs up you know :)

It IS raining. Fancy a cup of tea?
