Woohoo, I got my foil in the mail today.

Now I just have to figure out how to get it to practice without getting arrested, as I take the bus to campus and then have 7 hours of class/downtime beforehand and don't have any bags it will fit in.

I agree with you. Except you need to get a fake handle and sheath for it so you can look like you got Hiro's sword.

I wouldn't worry too much Moony. If you really have concerns you could wrap it in some towels/bungy chords. If you have a duffle bag it would hold it. Might be worth a try.

If it'll make you feel better, remember freshman year at XU when I was directing the Princess Bride scene gone terribly wrong!? I had a dagger, a couple yards of rope, a bottle of grape juice that smelled like alcohol, and a variety of other crazy objects. Granted campus police never asked to check my bag, but if they had... well I might have ended up with a record.

Even if you do get questioned at least you'll have a good story to share later right? We love you lots! Have fun in Cali!
