What I liked:
-The mood, the creepiness, the dark colors, were awesome. It was a bit more brutally realistic in some ways than I'd expected, like the attack on Arthur and Luna getting whacked in the face, but I think it worked for this story/film.
-I think it did a pretty good job capturing the themes of book five without smacking you over the head with them or making the story painful to sit through. They cut a lot out, but it was a good film regardless, and I didn't feel the loss of material like I did with PoA.
-Ron! I can usually take or leave Ron, both in the books and the movies, but here I like how he stuck up for Harry and felt bad for him when Harry was mean to him.
-Ginny was awesome, and it's pretty amazing to see one of these movies set something up (helpfully) for the next one. Though I did like all her boyfriends in the book : )

What I didn't like:
-Pretty much just Sirius' death. I'm surprised I haven't come across people freaking out about Bellatrix actually casting a killing curse (as it has much more finality, though Luna's comments later make it a bit more ambiguous). I like how in the book it's just random, accident, in the midst of chaos, how you almost miss it if you're reading along too quickly. Here it was a bit cheesy, though Harry's reaction was good.
-The mood of the film was surprisingly light at the end. We didn't get to see Harry grieving but for that one scene in the Ministry, and it didn't feel like enough.

What I missed:
-Sirius' mirror, which makes Harry's mistake all the more tragic
-The bustle of the Weasley Christmas (though Arthur having scars all over his face nearly made me cry)
-Dumbledore's letter to Petunia
-McGonagall's feud with Umbridge
-All the crazy rooms in the Department of Mysteries
-Not sure yet how I feel about Kreacher's role being taken away. I know they're largely cutting out the equality themes, but it seemed like a pretty big deal in the book. I'm also unsure about Sirius being much more stable in the film.

Anyways, less than a week until DH. Am simultateously ecstatic and terrified.
