Just now, while I was changing her diaper, Seren looked me in the eye and whispered "dhadhadha" (dadada with aspirated "D"). I know that she's just trying out sounds and probably wasn't identifying me by name yet or anything, but I never could have imagined that my stomach could leap the way it did over a bit of baby babble!

Betsy's wrong, there are plenty of people I know who could come up with stuff that bad or worse! Thanks, both of you--she's incredible and I got to show her off a lot this morning at the graduation rehearsal (imagine a tiny baby lying on a blanket on a football field, surrounded by high school age girls lying on the grass staring at her).

Now I understand why Frankenstein was able to help Sonny in Big Daddy. Aside from any intrinsic value they may have, cute kids rule!

Well, after she said that, I finished checking my school email from home, then gave the baby to her mother in bed for a feeding, showered, and headed off to work. I think my days of reckless, hedonistic abandon are largely gone now (although school is now done, so I've got a summer of baby pampering ahead of me)!
