I have a friend who used to be an engineer for an oil company, and he had nothing but great things to say about it. He got to travel to lots of cool foreign countries and had a very active outdoor oriented job. I don't know what sort of stuff you would be doing, but I'm sure you'll find ways to make it work for you. Good luck getting the job you want!
