Hey Svet! It's Billie (probably don't remember me it's been so long) from Bradford District High School!
So i have a couple of questions that have been driving me MAD about the DramaCon series...
1) Are Sandra and Greta a couple?
2) What does Emily whisper in Christie's ear?
But onto more pressing matters!
1) Are you going to be at Anime North 2011?
2) Why are all your male characters so damn HOT?!
3) If i were to write a DramaCon one shot, would you read it and tell me your opinion?
That's about it for now~ Can't wait to hear back from you!!! >w<
Love,
Billie

Hey, Billie! No, I remember you, I think about you guys every time I drink tea from those mugs you got me :D
1. Sandra and Greta totally a couple, yep yep!
2. I don't know what she whispers! I decided to leave it up to everyone's imaginations :D But I would assume it's something about his personal habits where girlfriends are concerned? XD
1. Nope, no AN for me this year, either!
2. Because that's how I like it LOL
3. I am not supposed to read fanfic of my work *cry* I hear there are some really good ones out there, but I can't read any as long as there is still a chance that I might continue working on the story. You should def post it to the Dramacon lj community though!

2) I can deal with that. XD
3) What?! That's not cool! Why aren't you allowed to read them?

mines wasn't so much as a discontent with style (comics is too much work anyways, I'm going a different direction for pay work) more like, I'm too confortable with it that it bores me. Though I like my style so dont really want to change it yet.

I would recommend not paying attention to the people knocking manga style :D My personal opinion is, no matter what your style is, if you enjoy it, then damn all the rest. If you feel dissatisfied with it for personal reasons--maybe you feel you've plateau'ed or you no longer feel your technical skills are adequate for translating the concepts in your mind on to paper--then I would recommend art classes, tutorials, drawing with other people, and challenging yourself artistically with new ways of doing things. The obvious benefit will be that you'll learn new things, but the other is that when in group environments, your creative spark feeds! And it does need to be fed, or it'll stagnate.
As for changing your style--that's an exellent exercise, I try to do it as often as I can (take a style, try to deconstruct it and then mimic as closely as I can). I usually always find new interesting tidbits that I might fold/adapt into my own way of doing things.
Hope this helps!

Why comics? (there's nothing wrong with them, I love 'em, but still: why?)

Because Comics Are Love. Haha! The serious answer is that I love both drawing and writing and comics are the perfect combination of both, therefore they are my dark and winding path in life.

Do you have a story still-not-published which is precious to you and that you would like to draw someday? :)

Congratulations on Nightschool, BTW! We love the way you depict emotions and how you manage readers feel empathy for the characters!

Is there any possibility to see you in Germany in the future? :) I'd wait long, looooong times just to see that happen. That would be the luckiest day ever.

I love your stories. And I managed to force lots of my friends into reading your stuff. ;) They love it, too. (Even without myself becoming unspeakable cruel. *cough* <3)

Best wishes
Kate from Germany

I've never been invited to Germany! I'd love to visit, certainly, but at this point my travel time is pretty limited :( Perhaps one day...

Thanks for spreading the love and making your friends read my books :3
