Someone actually brought up the point that "All I've ever wanted was to be your queen" makes sense in the context of how Gwen helped form Arthur into the king he is now, and for a while now she's dreamed of ruling by his side and on behalf of the people. That said, it's another example of why the writers really, really, REALLY needed to examine how becoming Arthur's clear intended affected Gwen and how she dealt with the knowledge that she would one day be queen. =\ Because if you don't have the head canon that I mentioned, it is a bit disconcerting, I agree.

Gwen should have said "I have only ever wanted to be your WIFE" ... not Queen. I cringed when she said that.

Im glad you agree. It was the exact some for me. I kept thinking "WIFE GWE, SAY WIFE!" I don;t think it was helping her case at all.

For the sake of my sanity I hope I'm one day over this, although I'm sure that day will never come. Even if I manage to compartmentalize everything and continue shipping A/G I'll still think back on this episode and ... cringe would be putting it lightly.

Making these vids have been the only way I've managed not to break into a rant about this awful episode in the middle of my seminars, so I'm glad it's helped you as well! This has been one hellish week. =\

You know, I've been watching these vids and still feel melancholic about the whole episode. And then I watched this particular one and muted it, then played another instrumental track that was equally sad (though the title of said track is depressing enough. "No Moon, No Stars") and my heart broke again. *SIGH* I want Gwen back. :(
