I decide to go to the public library to renew my card and check out some books that I wanted to buy on Amazon.com, but I decided to see if the library had them first and read them that way. Just so I am not wasting money on books I might not enjoy. It turns out my card had been expired since 2000. I had a small fee of 3.00 to pay, which they took

Uh... some bastardization of French, I think... I'm coming up with "courtly spy" and "an individual who perceives pain as pleasure." A lot of book reviewers seem to be bitching about the made-up words to convey intelligence, in regards to that book.
