Help us choose a band name

So, we're getting pretty near done with our demo CD, and we really need to settle on a band name. This is really hard. Not only is it hard to agree, or to think up names, but there are so many bands out there that you've never heard of, and they've used a lot of names. A few that I've come up with that I thought had some potential, but that turned out to be already names of existing bands, include: "Infamous", "Shades of Grey", and "Q.E.D."

Names that have been suggested by others in the band, which are not already taken (perhaps because they aren't such great names to begin with) include: "The Leeds" and "The Poplars". They're not terrible, but they don't have punch, and they don't stand out. If I don't come up with something myself, I have a feeling no one else in the group is going to bring new names, and we'll be choosing between those two. Our bassist seems to think "The Poplars" is a great name. Our drummer prefers "The Leeds", but doesn't seem to feel particularly strongly about names in general. The guitarist and I both agree that band names need to stand out more than either of those do, but neither of us has been able to settle on one that satisfies us and isn't already taken.

So if you wanted to be really awesome, you could even look up your suggestions and find out whether bands already exist for them, but I'm perfectly capable of doing that next step myself. Mostly I just want ideas. Lots of them. Whatever you can think up.

For an idea of what sort of band you're naming, we're stylistically aiming towards 60s British invasion, e.g. The Beatles. A few of the original songs we're recording right now are "The Best I Can", "Listen", and "Half-Remembered Thoughts". I wish I could give you a list of all the really awesome band names we're considering so you could just point to your favorites or some such, but really the sticking point is just coming up with options worth considering in the first place. Help me, please!

Thank you!
