Finally time to talk about all these season and series finales! As well as Glee, which isn't over just yet. I know some of these season finales happened like a week ago but I just wanted to do one massive post about it instead separate ones, IDK! I'll try to keep it short since there are a lot I wanna cover.
Gossip Girl: Ugh, just when I thought the show was getting good again. I honestly don't know how I'm expected to continue to ship Chuck/Blair with that mess. I mean Chuck getting shot is obviously supposed to make us forget about what he did and feel sympathy, but I don't. And I don't care, I was actually starting to like Jenny, but then she went and pulled that crap and it made me dislike her all over again. The parts I did like? Nate is free from Serena so that leaves Nate/Jenny (though Jenny just ruined a chance of that really happening!), I can actually stand Serena when she's with Dan, but I mostly loved the bits of Dan/Blair. :) A part of me wishes the show would go there, it'd be the Upper East Side's Seth/Summer, but seeing how the writers manage to ruin every single damn couple on the show, I'd rather they leave Dair untainted. And I loved Dorota's baby being born and whatnot. :)
One Tree Hill: What's with people getting shot this year?! I mean I srsly think Quinn and Clay are going to be okay but wtf, what was that for?! That fake!Sarah is crazy and I thought she was locked up?! Oh well, I'm glad Haley's finally starting to cope with her mother's death. I may be completely insensitive and it may once again be my mommy issues kicking in, but I didn't see why she was so depressed for that long with her mother's death when Quinn seemed to be dealing with it a lot better than her. Plus, Haley's parents were NEVER around! Idk I guess I'd have to be in that position to judge though (God forbid), I've just never had anyone super close to me pass away so I can't relate, it scares me. :/ But YAY HALEY'S PREGNANT AND BROOKE IS ENGAGED FINALLY, JUST WHAT I WANTED!!! Also, soooo glad OTH didn't get canceled, I've just gotten into this show the past year thanks to SoapNET, so I don't wanna see it off air yet! ♥
How I Met Your Mother: Uuuugh I hated what they did with Robin, making her a sappy girl not knowing whether to choose her career or love when Robin was always the strong, career woman! Of course they justified her choices with Ted's nice speech about how the five of them have really changed the past five years and now she's being courageous with love - but why did it have to be DON she did that with?! They never even showed their relationship, they just told us about it and I HATE when tv shows/books/movies do that. Whatevs, just glad that Don is out of the picture, and Barney still seems to be in love with Robin so they need to get them back together already, they belong together! ♥ Glad that Lily & Marshall aren't pregnant yet, but I know they will be soon, idk how to feel about that. I wish the finale had been more about Ted getting closer to finding out who the Mother was though.
The Big Bang Theory: UGH L/P ruined this episode for me. I've said this many times before and this episode pretty much reiterated it, Leonard is one big bag of douche! I can't believe he just willingly gave in to having sex with Penny KNOWING she was clearly drunk, and then he expected it to mean something?! Since when did their sex ever mean anything?! Ugh puke. Glad both Leslie and Penny turned him down when he tried to turn the tables. And as for Sheldon, I'll admit I was initially VERY displeased with the idea of a female!Sheldon becoming a possible love interest for him, because I think Penny is the only one for him - but as soon as I saw Amy and Sheldon together I thought this could be VERY good for Sheldon's character development! It can make the gang realize that Sheldon isn't as crazy as they think he is, and there are weirder people than Sheldon out there, and therefore appreciate him more (cuz jeez show, can you rag on Sheldon anymore?!) AND it'll also make Sheldon realize that the only feelings he has are for Penny! A lot of people argue that Sheldon will never choose Penny because she's not smart enough for him, on "paper" she is not what he would ever want in a girl, and that he'd always choose things "scientifically", but I think introducing Amy, who was "scientifically" chosen for him through the dating site will make him realize that despite science pairing them up together and her seemingly fitting his qualifications, he does NOT like her and actually has emotional feelings for Penny, the non-scientific choice! :D I know, I know, waay wishful thinking *sigh* but I seriously think it could happen and SHOULD happen!
10 Things I Hate About You: This was a show that aired on ABC Family, and it was barely in the second volume of its first season and they canceled it so it was the SERIES finale for this show!! :( :( :( When the show first aired last year I *really* wanted to dislike it because I hated the idea of them copying the movie, but goddamn the show was so cute and likable, you couldn't help but love it! It was most definitely WAAAAAAAY better than that idiotic Secret Life of the American Teenager show! SO WTF ABC FAMILY WHY DID YOU CANCEL IT?! Well I know why, they say low ratings and such but HEY here's an idea! How about you promote/advertise this show more instead of that atrocious Secret Life every once in a while?!?! And how about you NOT charge your viewers money to watch this show online when you don't make viewers pay for your other shows?! UGH. And the series finale sucked to because the writers obviously had no idea they were going to be canceled so soon, so it was left on maaaaajor cliffhangers. :( :( :(
Okay now on to last night's Glee episode. EEEEEEEEE! Yes! One of the better back 9 episodes! I lahv-lahv-lahved (you see what I did there?) the Gaga performance! Santana & Quinn, I fucking love you so much! ♥ FINN GTFO! Jeez my hated for Finn just grew ten times tonight but my love for Papa Hummel grew much more. ♥ I know Finn was totally right/justified for being completely uncomfortable rooming with a guy who's had a crush on him, but I honestly don't think Kurt was going to try and rape him in his sleep or anything! I knew he was trying too hard, but his intentions were good - he was just trying to make Finn feel comfortable! It's one thing to express that you're uncomfortable and that was okay for Finn to do, but not in that douchey way! And then he went on with the 'fag' comments and WOOT FOR BURT STEPPING IN AND DEFENDING HIS SON!!! I loved it, it made me woop and clap and just generally be proud - every parent should defend their kids like that. :) PUCK UNF, I love you you're sooo sweet when you want to be! I loved that he sang that Beth song, but him singing to Rachel is always better. But I loved that he wanted to be there for the baby, the baby, not Quinn!, and a part of me wishes Quinn would keep the baby, but idk how that'd work out in the story. Oh hell who cares, it's not as if Glee is consistent and brings up past issues very often. I liked Rachel's mommy storyline, I kinda hope sooo badly that Idina stays on the show reguarly, or at least often enough, along with Kristen Chenowith! I want them to duet! :D It was a little weird without Jesse being in the episode but then I found out that they switched up the order of the episodes so it makes more sense, considering the promo for next weeks whey they find out about Jesse still being in Vocal Adrenaline. Can't wait for the last two episodes!
Finally, the biggest issue to talk about, LOST!:
Oh god, this episode had me crying sooo much!! I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, LOVED IT, IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. I wish I had started watching Lost from the time it originally started airing, rather than watching the first 5 seasons in one summer and watching the last season on air, but hey, better late than never! I feel like you're missing out by not watching Lost, it's so epic! And something as epic as Lost deserved a movie length (srsly 2 and a half hours!) finale. Sadly though, it didn't answer many questions about the island itself, and a lot of people were pissed that it was always science, science, science with Lost and the finale was all about the spiritual/religious beliefs. (I saw the religious stuff coming from a mile away as soon as Kate pointed out Jack's father's name - Christian Shepard). It's kind of like what was the point in asking all these island questions in the first place if in the end it didn't matter? But I don't care, I loved it! I thought it was beautiful! And of course, true to Lost form, the ending was completely open to interpretation. The general consensus is that they were all in limbo and the alternate universe was like purgatory for them as they all tried to cope and move on together so the alt. universe wasn't real. And once they all remembered everything that happened on the island with those flashes and whatnot, they were finally ready to move on and they all met up in the church to pass on to Heaven. It didn't matter when they died, because there was no sense of time there, like Jack's dad said "There is no NOW here." I loved that they had most of the original cast there! Rose/Bernard! Libby! Shannon! BOONE! (*drool* Ian Somerhalder) CHARLIE/CLAIRE! :'( Reunited SUN/JIN! :'( Reunited SAWYER/JULIET! :'( etc. Of course Michael wasn't there because he's a lost spirit stuck on the island, but Walt wasn't there which is really disappointing because there was all this build up around him in the first season about him being ~special but oh well, that's what you get with child actors growing up over the span of six years. And a few other people who crashed weren't there either like Analucia and Cindy the flight attendant, but who cares the main ones were there! Though I don't think I saw Miles, Faraday, Charlotte, or Lapidus there? I'm not too sure, I hope they were! Though I'd understand if/why they weren't there - I just love my bbs Miles and Faraday! But I'm glad they managed to get Ian Somerhalder♥ AND Maggie Grace for that last scene. Gahhh it was a beautiful scene.
Even though I'm okay with this general consensus for the finale, I REALLY wanted the alternate universe to be REAL! Okay this is my theory/the way I imagine it played out. Yes, everything on the island was real, and after they blew up the bomb, it DID work, Jack's plan worked and he saved everyone - they happened to somehow live on the island and alternate universe, both lives going on normally. Then, as soon as their island lives died AND/OR their alternate universe selves got those flashes of the island THAT WAS THEIR SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE, that was how Jack saved them. So yes everything on the island was real and they remembered it, but they could also continue their NORMAL lives not on the island and get their second chance. Example, Sun/Jin could both remember the MANY times they were separated on the island thus strengthening their love for each other in the real!alt world and STILL be able to raise their damn baby together! :'( Gahh, these two just kill me, I've loved them from the very beginning and it breaks my heart when I remember that Jin never got to meet his daughter - so this alt. universe becoming their lives as soon as they remember the island seems like a good idea for me! Yeah that's my theory.
A lot of people also said that NONE of the show was real, that everything they showed was simply Jack's dream as he imagined it would be if they had all survived the plane crash, but really they had all died on impact - they think this because of the plane crash remains shown at the end with the credits, but I don't think that's what happened because I've seen interviews where they said YES, everything that happened on the island was real. And besides, if it was just a dream and they really had all died on impact, why would PENNY/DESMOND be in the church in that final scene? They weren't on the plane. Desmond was on the island, so yeah the island bit was real. And gahhh Desmond and Jack saying "I'll see you in another life brotha" and then the FINAL scene of Jack's eye closing with Vincent laying down next to him, the parallel between the Pilot GAHHHHHHH I LOVE YOU LOST, I don't care about the mindfucks you gave me and that you killed off Boone so soon♥ or that you killed off pretty much all my favorite characters, it's okay! I love you! :'(
OKAY PHEW. Maybe I shouldn't do long collaborative tv posts like that! You're welcome to share your thoughts on any of the shows you watch. :D
P.S. I finally got a mood theme, it's Vampire Diaries! :D It's my obsession right now. Guess I should mention that the season finale for that show as pure AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.
I might change my mood them later to this Greek one I've been dying to use once Greek starts up again. ♥
