Fandom Gossip Girl: The While You Weren't Sleeping & preview reaction

Feb 23, 2011 20:09

yes, blair's not sleeping. like me. i should be working and delegating things to my minions. but i don't have a Dan that I can delegate stuff to. Rather, i have a Dan but he can't be my assistant. Frak it.

A bit of real life here folks. I just might be promoted in a few months time. I should be pulling out all the stops, but nooooo. I'm too far gone with my DAir love. Bloody hell.  I'm actually looking at my real life and comparing everything to Dair now. Shit. My husband finds it funny - "am i really that much of a Dan?".... his anwser: "yes". See, like Blair, so many things in our life would just flow more smoothly if he just admits I'm right with the important things.

Back to GG:

1/ Why doesn't Dan go to class? Seriously, he doesn't have minions he can dictate exam essay questions to.

2/ How can such a delicately-featured white man like Ben have all that power in jail? I'm going with the idea that he was just bluffing Damien.

3/ I wish that Buckley had used more musical motifs in this episode. It was much to visual for me. Love the blocking for Dan/Blair, but I really didn't like the blocking for the other scenes. i was really hoping that they'd use some kind of arc song for this episode, but alas no. I'm not liking that the song that had the most recall is the one Natie was dancing to.

4/ Why doesn't Chuck get his own Dorota? Is it a testament to his smarminess that he can't get any loyal help?

5/ Why is Gossip Girl DAir blind? Seriously, they've been out in public so often you'd think that there'd be a blast about them. Like, how can minions be spotted by GG but no one posts about DAir at the Morgan or in whichever coffee/donut shop they have breakfast in? Plus, at the end of that whole thing, I still get the BFF vibe from them. So to go from secret BFF to "affair!" is just a bit much.

6/ I don't think they will kiss at all next ep. i think the previews are misleading us. i'm prayer circling that the cliffhanger is about dan realizing he has feelings and is about to tell her but DAMN the prince has come. i think that is what chuck is supposed to warn blair about. that is what i will choose to believe.

penn was quoted earlier, prior to the airing of season 4.0, that there was going to be a wedding. people thought he was joking. apparently he wasn't. he was the only one of the cast that said something about the coming season finale. i'd like to think that the showrunners either informed him ahead of time or the whole cast has known about this for a while now.  scripted shows are SUPPOSED to have season long outlines from which scripts are based on. it has also been done before that some cast members know in advance what is to come so that they can prepare the character's motivation while at the same time some actors are left in the dark so that their surprise would come off more genuine. they did that with Katee Sackhoff when they told her they were going to kill her then bring her back. Everyone else on BSG thought she was really gone and were about to stage a protest and eventually they had to let the other cast members in on it.  it CHOOSE to believe that penn was given advanced notice. i CHOOSE to believe that there's a positive, DAiring reason for that.

I'd rather believe that than all the evil, one-side framing of information that have been coming from some spoiler sources. I want to believe that the one actor in the middle of this whole thing, THAT HAS YET TO BE SUCCESSFULLY INTERVIEWED about it, is the one with the real answers. This is such a shippy post. I can't even think of anything else to say about Serena, or Nate. Dair is consuming me.
